Led by a team of lifelong Chicago restaurant figures, The Evie is a locally-owned upscale dining destination located at the heart of the Magnificent Mile. Led by Partner George Archos (Wildberry Café), Chef-Partner Nick Nitti (Forno Rosso, Lucia Rose, Cucina 3 Italian), and Executive Chef Phil Rubino (Spiaggia, L2O, Cicchetti), the restaurant provides city locals and visitors a place to unwind and indulge while overlooking iconic Michigan Avenue. Named after George’s mother and daughter, the concept puts family at the forefront, with an emphasis on warm, Midwestern hospitality.

Evie offers full lunch/dinner and weekend brunch, presenting a menu of reimagined American classics and city favorites, spotlighting dishes like chef-crafted sushi rolls, freshly baked breads, Chicago-style Wagyu hotdogs, and USDA prime steaks. Complementing the menu, our dynamic beverage program weaves together seasonality and elegance, featuring an array of classic and craft cocktails, sake, beer & wine.

My wife had the filet mignon. Advertised as accompanied with pomme puree, she assumed it came with creamed potatoes. But it was actually a thin potato glaze. The crab cake was ok, but she wasn't impressed overall. My vegan burger was good.

We had a really nice lunch at Evie this week. We got sat at a table by the windows with a great view. We shared the spinach dip and a lobster roll, both were excellent. Our server did a great job. I wish I could remember his name.

Service was great and the view of Michigan Ave was nice, but the food just wasn't very good. Both myself and my guest were disappointed by the quality. Not bad enough to send back, but about the quality I'd expect from a casual dining chain restaurant...for about 2X the price. We had the Spinach & Artichoke Dip as a starter, which was...okay, but disappointing for $19. My guest had the Thai Salad with steak and said was soggy and flavorless. I had a Side Caesar Salad (which might have been the best thing I ate all night) and the Evie Classic Burger. The burger wasn't horrible, but came to the table a bit cold and was just very average. Plus, $9 for a 12oz Stella Artois is a bit of a reach. With all the amazing dining options in the area, I won't be back to The Evie.
