Everything at The Establishment begins with well-sourced ingredients from sea and field. Through developing relationships with local farmers and fishermen, our ingredients will be consistently seasonal, fresh, and pure. Chef Elliott Howells' menu will always reflect a clean, focused, and balanced approach, delivering a selection of thoughtful and refined cuisine.

Located in Charleston’s historic French Quarter a few blocks away from Rainbow Row, Charleston City Market, and Waterfront Park, The Establishment features an award-winning wine cellar, over 150 bourbon and whiskey offerings, and a lively bar scene complete with daily happy hour. We feature Live Music every Friday and Saturday starting at 8:00 PM, featuring multiple local artists performing an array of musical genres. Our private dining rooms are perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or business meetings. We look forward to hosting you for a casual night out or an elevated dining experience.

Join us for “Not your Mothers Gin", Tasting Dinner on Wednesday, July 31, hosted by Executive Chef Elliott Howells and Chief Mixologist, Ryan Wise. The 7-course dinner will feature sophisticated local dishes paired with delicious gin cocktails crafted from gins around the world. Each pairing is designed to create a sensory experience and enhance the flavors of each unique gin- citrus to floral, to herbal and spice. Whether you’re a gin aficionado or just relish in a good time, this is an event you won't want to miss. Tickets include all food, beverage, taxes and gratuity. No menu adjustments or substitutions please! Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails start at 6pm with the seated dinner at 6:30PM. All questions can be addressed via 843-789-4028.

The Establishment has partnered with Charleston Jazz Orchestra to share a beautifully composed evening of Latin music and cuisine–in honor of Hispanic History Month. Executive Chef Elliott Howells has created a 3-course Latin-inspired menu, with Hispanic wine offerings, and a featured cocktail by Bar Manager Ryan Wise. Musicians from the upcoming Cha Cha Charleston concert (Saturday September 14th) will host a live performance during dinner, featuring Samba to Salsa, and Bossa-Nova to Afro-Cuban. This immersive celebration of Latin culture is one you don’t want to miss.

Took a very long time to get water or any service however, the manager Henry turned the experience around. Our waitress was very weird acting towards me and my husband; no smiles know anything, but when I saw her interacting with others her demeanor was very different. Not sure what the issue was I believe her name was Sarah V.

We enjoy dining at The Establishment. It is a walkable distance from home, has a lovely environment, good food and great service. Servers are well versed in the ingredients and preparation of each dish. However, entree proportions seem to have become smaller as their prices have risen. There is not a lot of difference in an appetizer proportion and that of an entree except, in some cases, entree prices are double or more the price of an appetizer.

This was our first experience at this restaurant and we will definitely return when we are in the area. The food and wine were exceptional as was the service by Henry.

I have always had amazing service and food at the Establishment. Atmosphere and service were amazing, the watermelon salad and gnocchi appetizers were amazing as usual but our main dishes were not on point during my last visit. The grouper and tile fish, although cooked well, lacked flavor. I can not say they were bad, but they just were not memorable. Not much flavor from the fish and the bed of vegetables underneath were less than impressive. I hope this was just an off night and will definitely go back to give it another try.

Went here just because of availability, but was very glad we did. Great food, great service, and just overall a comfortable place. Not too pretentious (which can be tough to find in Charleston), and just a relaxing experience. Would enjoy returning at some point.

Great vibe/atmosphere in a really pretty part of Charleston. We enjoyed our food and the service was excellent. We dined on a Wednesday night so the restaurant was lively but not packed and the sound level was perfect. The wagyu entree and gnudi appetizer were highlights, as were the oysters. Dessert menu is small. Cocktail and wine menu are nice. Kindof nuts that bread service isn’t included when you’re spending $100+ per head for dinner, I continue to think this is absurd but sadly it’s not rare. We’d return to this restaurant for sure. It was a really enjoyable evening.
