We did the 5 and 7 course tasting. The amuse was our favorite course. For the price, we’ve had much better. But for this area, we really enjoyed it. We plan to come back and try individual dishes, as the tasting didn’t do it for us. We really think it has great potential though!

We’ve lived globally and around the USA through a career in the military, and we always find “our spot” in the locales where we live. The Essex will be our new “spot” and we don’t plan on moving any more! Amazing service, cocktails were superb, the steak and the swordfish were perfect, and I loved the Lobster bisque. We can’t wait to go back!

My girlfriend I were celebrating a special visit and decided to sit at the chef’s counter. What a fun time we had there, as we are both “foodies” and we enjoyed chatting with the chef to learn how he prepared each dish. We order 6 small plates and all were fantastic: oysters, fluke tartar, lobster bisque (the best I have EVER had!), octopus a la plancha, tomato galette and the burnt Basque cheesecake! All in all, a fabulous meal and experience!!

We had a reservation for the dining room but chose to sit at the bar. Service was excellent and bartender Dillon was very friendly and engaging. The food was excellent we had foie gràs, heirloom tomato, gallete , octopus, fluke and filet mignon. I would do the chef tasting menu on the next visit.
