The Elgin is a bar & restaurant serving upscale fare situated just south of Rockefeller Center & steps from Broadway & Times Square. Our goal is to provide sophisticated cocktails, a carefully curated craft & seasonal beer list, amazing food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Please join us!
The Elgin’s 4 main principals, Peter Pernicone, Darwin Conner, Paul Baum & Christine Trauben, have known each other for 30 years. They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea & had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

Excited we arrived in NYC for my husband's birthday. I made a reservation and included notes that it was his birthday. Service was meh, the food was good though. Sad part, they didn't acknowledge him or his birthday. Not a single thing. I was really disappointed.

We were given a table upstairs away from the noisy main floor. Service was prompt but not intrusive. Food was delicious and very good lunch portions. A great place to meet a client, who was impressed by the choice.

First time here and already looking forward to returning. The tuna poke nachos are amazing. The greenhouse cocktail was very fresh tasting. The sliders and wings were also good. Make sure you get the cookie skillet for dessert.

Food and. service were very good. We had turkey sandwiches and kale, avocado salad. Yummy! The drinks were good as well.

Our waiter was excellent. Drinks came out very quickly. The food was all delicious. I can't wait for my next visit.

The food was good but the service was very slow. It was hard to get our server's attention for drinks, water, etc. A dinner for three took nearly two hours which feels lengthy for a Tuesday night when it wasn't that busy. Some of the food came out very quickly and others took a long time, so it was weirdly paced out.

Nice atmosphere, great food and great service. Tuna poke nachos and turkey sandwich were top notch. A bit pricey for a bar type restaurant, but that’s NYC I guess. Will definitely be back.

My first time here, we ate outside bc it was a lovely night. There was street noise which was expected but extra noisy due to clean up after the Dominican parade. Street barricades were being moved and stacked onto a truck. Food was very good, and our waiter was attentive.
