Welcome to The Elephant Restaurant
The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which is situated near the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham.

Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff.

Due to the style of cooking we cannot produce dairy free menus & therefore cannot provide vegan options.

A deposit is required to make reservations on special days of the year, on our special events, or for tables of 6 or more. This is paid over the phone by calling 01803 200044.

Children's menu is only available at lunch for ages 10 and under.

Tasting menu only available in the evening unless requested via phone in advance.

    Perfect meal. My partner is wheat intolerant and a pescatarian, and they offered to amend the lunch time tasting menu to suit her so we could both still have it. The food as ever was fantastic, and the staff are just brilliant and a total credit to the place. Genuinely can’t recommend the place enough.

    Simply the best, the food, the service, the ambiance. My favourite place to eat and the only place where there is not the slightest disappointment at what I’ve eaten or what I’ve paid for it. Just go and be prepared to fall in love

    Exceptional lunch at The Elephant: every dish on the tasting menu was superb, with the stone bass a standout best. Service and ambience faultless.

    We had a lovely meal, there was a happy anniversary card on the table when we arrived and celebratory petit fours at the end of the meal which was a lovely touch. Service was impeccable and the detail and flavour combinations in the dishes of the tasting menu was incredible.

    Loved it, food was great, service fab, and very good value for money for the cookery involved. We are returning in November and can't wait.
