The Homestead Restaurant + Lounge at The Eldred Preserve, named "The Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the Upper Delaware Valley," offers an elevated dining experience — featuring house-aged steaks and farm-to-table fare — all year long.

The modern steakhouse features several unique experiential spaces, including floor-to-ceiling windows in its main dining area, a wine-tasting room, private dining room, sunroom dining area, and an expansive covered, heated outdoor patio that’s ideal for dining al fresco. Guests can enjoy custom cakes for special occasions, holiday dining events, and special onsite performances.

The Homestead’s menus are ever-changing, and include a list of carefully-crafted signature cocktails, a wide selection of world-class wines, and an array of spirits and beers, many distilled or brewed in and around Sullivan County, N.Y.

The Lounge, also a Readers' Choice award winner, offers a comfortable atmosphere, beautiful views, and a nice selection of lighter dining fare.

The Scallops were just OK and the duck was significantly overcooked. The server agreed and went back to the chef and without asking, they offered to cook a new duck, but we didnt have the time for that so they comped us desert. Hopefully next time it will be better. But I will not be ordering the duck.

6:30 reservation, had one of three drinks brought to the table at 6:50, odd to bring one persons drink. The drink was incorrect , and was for a different table. Finally the drinks come all at once at 7PM , and an up drink comes with ice . We eventually order the meal from a different wait person as we just sat being avoided. Apps , were good no plates to share , no bread yet, main comes out , three meals ordered , four meals brought out ….. food runner asks who gets what meal, not a fine dinning experience . I suppose it is possible to confuse steak fries with steak frites . About the bread, if you remember the bread from Rock hill, this bread is a disappointment . After the meal all we wanted to do was leave, waiting for the check took forever. If I had more space to write then I would continue to ramble on, It would have been nice for a manager to come over during the meal, considering one person in my group did comment to the host mid meal about the terrible service . Other notable issues, had to ask for flatware, had to repeatedly ask for our water glasses to be filled ….we could not wait to leave , big fail on my part for my wife’s birthday

So The Homestead has such potential. The place is beautiful but they are missing the mark a bit. The wine list is weak. The service is slow. Kitchen refuses to split dishes and it takes a while for the waitress to bring an extra plate.

Went to The Eldred Preserve for Father's Day dinner and bought tickets for the cabaret the same night. The food was delicious, ambiance lovely as usual, the wait staff were great. It was a perfect dinner. The cabaret Old Time Rock and Roll show with Peter Lemongello was outstanding! I had no idea what to expect and thought it was just something to do but it turned out to be the highlight of the weekend! Excellent show!

There were lags in receiving drinks and food . This is usual. The waitstaff can only work as quickly as the materials are available but the gaps between ordering and getting the drinks and food are too long. Between appetizers and mains, and betrween meal and coffee/ dessert, there are longish periods with no interaction with staff. No coffee refills offered . Food, ambience and setting exceptional as always and the staff tries their best. It's nice to not be rushed but over 2 1/2 hours is a bit long...At our previousd visit, we started at 5:15 and barely made it to the 7 o'clock cabaret...Still one of my favorite spots...

The busboy was excellent but our waitress was rarely around for us. I assume she had tables fair enough alway from us. All the other tables in the room we were in had a different server and had much better service than us from their server. We felt ignored most of the time.

If they had 5 more stars, I would give it to them. The food was amazing ! We've eaten at many fine restaurants, and this was in the top 3. The service was fantastic as well. The girls ( one was training ) were not in a rush. They were knowledgeable of the menu, and when we had a question that they didn't know the answer, they said they would find out. The restaurant is very lucky to have the Chefs, and employees that they do !!!!!

The hotel, restaurant, and grounds are just beautiful. All employees, from the moment you enter, are respectful, lovely, friendly people. The grounds are gorgeous; the rooms are meticulous and gorgeously nature-decorated. A true respite!!
