Seated in a series of elegant and atmospheric dining rooms, each portioned along the lines of the original Georgian houses they reside within, our guests are welcomed as old friends.

Step into our hidden speakeasy, tucked away in a historic vault, and indulge in snacks and bespoke cocktails before heading upstairs for a 7-course dinner showcasing the best of British wild food.

Food was delicious, with only set menu to choose from which was unexpected. The pre dinner cocktail and after dinner liqueur had no alcohol free option offered. Service could be sharper and more polished, passing plates to customers rather than placing them and drinks taking a long time to arrive. Rooms were cosy and intimate, ideal for romantic dinners.

Our first time at The Elder and we will return. Excellent service from the moment we sat down and every one of the tasting menu plates was delicious. I hope they will expand these into full starter and main courses as I would love to try both the wood pigeon and venison in larger portions. The big surprise for all of our table was the sweetcorn velouté which was both bright in flavours and warming at the same time.

Everything was awesome, the only place I feel could improve, was some of the dishes were lukewarm when they came out, delicious all the same, sorry. Can't fault anything else at all. Will definitely book again 😀

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was delicious and the drink pairings were just right. The food was well presented. All staff were very friendly and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Elder.

It took a long time for our meal. I think they were a bit understaffed when we were there in August 2024. The food was good, some things needed a bit of salt. The 7 course tasting menu had two desserts and we could have done with just one. Nice intimate setting and the staff was very knowledgeable. Good cocktails and wine recommendations.

Great experience with wonderful locally sourced produce providing for a superb tasting menu. The staff were very knowledgeable around the courses and the wine flight giving the detail you need to understand the pairings. Would highly recommend.

I do not say this lightly, but this was one of the best food experiences I've had in my years. Even better than last time we visited post lockdown. If Liam and Co do not end up either with a Bib or a Star in the next year I'll be very surprised. Liam Goldstone is definitely a rising star, and his food has many clever little things that you don't realise. He's also exceptionally lovely, and also self effacing of his talents and downplays it. Need to big up the staff, as no food experience crosses the line without their Staff. We were lucky enough to have again to be served by the returning Hungarian Front of House Manager, who with his obvious delight in serving Liam's food enhances, the flawless presentation and help throughout. Genuinely enhanced the experience to be served by him again. The food itself - we were lucky to be some of the first to receive the tasting menu, and every dish an absolute pleasure. They adjusted where necessary to meet my allergies without any fuss. The instant taste bomb of the donut is a perfect opener. The rabbit, the veal... the mushroom with the veal... a total taste delight. Nothing is over the top, everything is thoughtful well placed, impeccably presented, and it's only when you start talking about do you notice the cleverness of how it is put together and served. Wait until you see how the poached cacklebean egg changes the dish once the yolk mixes through... oh!! Now I'm salivating all over again just thinking about this. We shared half a Valpicello between, which totally lit up on several dishes - with the fruit middle lighting up.
