Vous découvrirez un pub traditionnel reconnu dont le décor est composé d’un carrelage d’époque, de poutres apparentes, de boiseries en chêne et de feux rougissant en hiver. En complément du restaurant principal, le Durham Ox offre plusieurs espaces pour les dîners privés pour célébrer toute occasion et peut accueillir entre 10-85 invités pour un dîner formel ou informel. Pour ceux qui souhaitent passer la nuit, ils pourront bénéficier de cinq chalets convertis dans un cadre paisible et charmant. On a really busy Friday evening the staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was lovely and there were plenty of choices. It was just a really nice evening all round. Would definitely recommend. Lovely buzzing atmosphere and great food. Definitely worth a visit.

The pub is beautiful and the food was tasty, however the roast was on the expensive side and we found it fairly average. That being said the starter and the desert were very tasty. Only 3 stars for the service as we were not provided with a wine list (the wines are on a board on the wall but this was not visible from our table and we weren’t aware of it until we saw it when leaving) when I asked for a recommendation for a glass of wine, I was advised to go for the Malbec, which unbeknownst to me was the most expensive wine, coming in at £16 for a large glass and it was not a particularly nice. Besides this, the service was good.

Myself and my partner had a Sunday roast each here yesterday. We both had pork belly starter which was absolutely gorgeous and cannot be faulted. I had the roast beef lunch whilst my partner had the lamb. Both our dinners were nice but the roast potatoes felt like they’d been re-heated after being left standing for a while. I had a couple of Peroni’s and neither of us had desert but the bill still came to £97. The starters were £11 each and as I say, we couldn’t fault them but £25 for a roast dinner seems and was steep for the size of meal we received. They were tasty but I don’t think they were £25 tasty. The place itself is a nice setting and the atmosphere was decent, though.

Spent four nights on holiday in the area, and went to the Ox twice, once for Sunday lunch and once unbooked for evening meal. Excellent food both times, and staff friendly and welcoming.

The Chataubriand was delicious and the accompaniments lovely too. We asked for it to be cooked ‘medium’ and I was just a little too rare, but not enough to complain. I also thought that a simple rocket and parmigiana shavings side salad would be better suited than the ceaser salad it came with which was too overpowering. A lovely meal out though. I was too full for dessert!

Always a fabulous place to eat. Great choice of delicious food and plenty of drink options. Staff very friendly and such a lovely atmosphere to spend time with family and friends.
