Everything we wanted to order was not available. It was my wife birthday and she wanted to dine in at The Duplex to try the crab dip. and the waitress inform us it wasn't available. Then we ask for the beef sliders, again the waitress inform us those were also unavailable. I then try to order the chicken primage and not to my surprise but unavailable. I then ask for a lemonade, again not available. I then ask for a ginger ale, and yet again unavailable. The waitress then told us they only have Pepsi available to drink. My wife order the fish and it was not so tasty, I had the duplex burger, the patty was thin and overcooked. Also, the bartender sucks!!!! I wanted to leave but my wife love to support black owned businesses. If you going to charge a mandatory 20% gratuity, please ensure your restaurant is fully stocked with the menu items. Completely disappointed and will NEVER return.

Great food! Music was a tad bit loud but I enjoyed the DJ nonetheless!

Food and drinks were very good! Great Happy hour special. $7 martinis!!! It’s unheard of!

The food was excellent and prepared quickly. However, the service was appalling. Our server laughed at us when we asked if there was a paper copy of the menu. (There wasn’t). She was unable to tell us what wine the house wine was, and told us there was no wine list! We couldn’t find one in the online menu either. She was unfamiliar with a common summer beer and couldn’t recommend a different one. She ignored us after our dinners were served—never asked us how we liked our meals, and didn’t ask if we wanted another drink. But the worst thing happened when she brought the electronic check. She bent down to explain to me the $20 service charge added to each check. She told me that she only got $2 of it because they pool tips at that restaurant and I could tip extra. When I told her that pooling tips meant she would get a share of everyone else’s tips, she looked dumbfounded. She didn’t bring the bill-only a payment amount. When I asked for the actual bill, she again looked dumbfounded. Finally, she went and got a copy after I told her I wouldn’t pay without seeing the bill. I added extra to the tip only to bring the tip amount to 20%, not because she deserved it. I don’t plan to ever return to a restaurant with that sort of service.

Great service by Debbie and team! Food was delicious ! Lots of gluten free options ( when you stay away from fryer ) and the GF bread was great !!

They didn’t have fountain drinks for my children. So they had to drink water. They didn’t have most of the food listed on the menu. Plus my $50 deposit has not been released. I wouldn’t recommend.

Great aesthetic overall and the service is second to none. Our servers not only guided us to success with our delicious meal, but gave us all the moves to keep the night going in beautiful Logan Square. I’ll be back!
