great specials like the sea trout and wonderful ‘oldies’ like the tuna and the burrata starters. more options for non meat eaters too. always welcoming dogs. love the place

Food was amazing, we had the lamb shank which was on the specials board but there was a tiny amount of gravy so one of our party asked for some more, which didn’t arrive until after he had finished eating. Staff seemed a bit put out whenever we asked for more drinks, which made us feel like a nuisance so we left straight after eating. Other than staffing issues everything was excellent.

We are staying in a holiday cottage very close to this pub and after reading the reviews decided to book a table. We were not disappointed. There were 5 of us (and a dog) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was great and the service exceptional. If we’ve got time later this week we’ll be back😊

We had a lovely meal - the oysters were so fresh and tasty, followed by a delicious lemon sole. The service wasn’t particularly quick but very efficient and friendly.

Disappointed after 15 years of regular visits- new change of owner disastrous!! Used to recommend Dun Cow to lots of people but cannot honestly do that anymore. Quality has plummeted - inferior , cheaper quality product now being used (if not,then cooking procedures are wrong). Stood at bar to confirm booking (as requested by sign outside) for 5-10 minutes before any attention. Taken to table to and told drinks order would be taken soon. After ordering drinks they came after 10 minutes- one drink was wrong and was returned. Food ordered and the wait began- during this time we were served with meals we had not ordered (as were several other diners) and, having time to spare, noticed a total lack of order from staff. One couple got their meal and asked waitress to check with “chef” that it was what they had ordered! (They thought it looked completely different from what they expected!) Our steaks arrived and were obviously of inferior quality (in look and taste)from those served by the previous owner , although this was repudiated by waitress. We then had to wait for knives and forks!! Had to return my steak for re-cooking as it was underdone - don’t think it was re-cooked, just warmed somehow. Watching other meals being served we also noticed a big reduction in portion sizes. Won’t be going again (but you can try it!) 15 years of enjoyment and pleasurable dining now gone in one fell swoop.

We had a lovely meal last night. Would really recommend the Tuna tempura. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
