The Dumb Post is conveniently situated between Calne and Chippenham, with beautiful views over the nearby Bowood estate. A traditional country gastropub in the heart of Wiltshire, offering quality cask ales and tasty home cooked food using locally sourced ingredients. Husband and wife team, both passionate in providing delicious homemade food, excellent quality ingredients and good value for money dishes. Why not come and try one of our 'Hearty Pub Classics', or something from the 'The Grill' menu. We also offer a superb traditional Sunday Roast - with all the trimmings!

Welcomed in by all 3 members of staff, seated at our table where drinks order was taken and the days specials explained. Very friendly and polite staff. Food came promptly and wash delicious. Will definitely be returning.

This is the second time we’ve eaten here recently and there is nothing to fault at all. The staff are polite, friendly but not over the top and helpful. Max, on Saturday 20th and Kathy (we hope) on a previous visit, your customer skills are excellent. The food…..wow, just wow, this pub has now got an awesome team in its kitchen and will become a regular haunt for us. Thank you for being a little gem so close to our home. We will see you again soon.

Sunday lunch was delicious and the service was great! We have been here a few times now and the food and service is always outstanding!

Visited with my family for an early birthday meal. The lunch menu had tonnes of options to cover all appetites and the food was unbelievable. The chef has done some brilliant twists on the food and the basil sorbet for desert was exceptional and something I never expected! Service and atmosphere were perfect and very friendly and welcoming staff. Will definitely be back!

One of the best Sunday roast very time and all the meat and vegetables are locally sourced from local farmers so supporting UK farmers
