The Dumb Post is conveniently situated between Calne and Chippenham, with beautiful views over the nearby Bowood estate. A traditional country gastropub in the heart of Wiltshire, offering quality cask ales and tasty home cooked food using locally sourced ingredients. Husband and wife team, both passionate in providing delicious homemade food, excellent quality ingredients and good value for money dishes. Why not come and try one of our 'Hearty Pub Classics', or something from the 'The Grill' menu. We also offer a superb traditional Sunday Roast - with all the trimmings!

One of the best Sunday roast very time and all the meat and vegetables are locally sourced from local farmers so supporting UK farmers

We’re fully booked but managed to squeeze us in so we were very grateful to the lady who helped us. Fantastic Sunday lunch overlooking the garden. Perfect.

Steak was bang average and assumed it would be better at that price … wife’s food was cold and dry. Wife’s Dessert was lovely… my sticky toffee was not the best. Been a few times this wasn’t the best… maybe not going to rush back

Excellent attention from Jasmine, very pleasant manner and proud of the pub. We had steaks , both cooked well and good choice of puddings. We will be back and thanks for a pleasant evening.

Food was outstanding, worth the price. Service was busy but still attentive. Overall a beautiful spot to enjoy on a sunny Sunday. Highly recommend!
