Great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere – what more could you want from a restaurant and country pub! 2024 has seen an extensive £150,000 refurbishment creating a stylish and contemporary restaurant & country pub..

Set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, it is the main destination inn in the area. The delicious created dishes on our menu are locally sourced and reflect the changing seasons, mirroring the wonderful walks to be found through Skipwith Common, right on its doorstep.

Nice venue, plenty of space, including outdoor. Good choice on the menu with lots of locally sourced ingredients. Service was excellent too. We will visit again when back in the area.

Great staff, lovely food . A good selection of gluten free options, loved the Parkin & salted caramel ice cream. Veggie Sunday roast the best around.

Went for the first time during the Christmas break, staff were very welcoming, shown straight to our table The menu is extensive with something for everyone. We had the sticky pigs in blankets to share, then my wife had the steak and ale pie, and swapped the chips for cheddar mash, I had the braised rabbit pappardelle, both mains were superb, and would highly recommend. We had the sharing dessert and again it was excellent. We would highly recommend the Drovers Arms.

Super service from booking table through initial drinks and food which was excellent. One to return to and not too leave so long between visits.

A great family meal get together today at the drovers arms. Food hot and a really lovely menu and option to go for a lighter bite option which is appreciated for people who can’t eat as much. Lovely ambience and feel to the place so all in all a wonderful experience and will definitely return again.

Warm and inviting pub - service from a young staff was excellent. Landlord was present and overlooked the service which is nice to see. Food generally was very good apart from one dish that was a little unusual - on the menu it was pan fried prawns but they arrived swimming in a cream sauce. The other dishes were tasty, cauliflower bang bang was light and crispy, the ale pie was tasty and the burger was a generous portion. No puddings as we were all too full. Good choice of beers and lagers.Dog friendly. Will definitely return.

Table next to toilets and back door so people in and out .Game pie should be rich quite tasteless unsure what the meat was more carrot and swead ratio than meat .Suet top made a nice change until half the underside not cooked. Triple cooked chips should be crispy not soft and anemic.
