Great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere – what more could you want from a restaurant and country pub! 2024 has seen an extensive £150,000 refurbishment creating a stylish and contemporary restaurant & country pub..

Set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, it is the main destination inn in the area. The delicious created dishes on our menu are locally sourced and reflect the changing seasons, mirroring the wonderful walks to be found through Skipwith Common, right on its doorstep.

Excellent country pub, that is open when many others are not in the surrounding area. Good food, although a bit pricey.

I had booked Drovers arm pub for Father’s Day lunch with my family and elderly parents. I had booked private hut seating on Open table. The staff refused to accept that I had a private hut seating and sat us in an open air bench although there were seats available in the tepee tent. There was big chance of rainfall that’s why I had booked covered seating in advance! Only when I showed confirmation on my phone (signal is pretty bad in the location but luckily I had a screenshot on my phone) they arranged it. It was the attitude of the staff that really put me off.

Thank you for your recent review, again please accept my apologies for the confusion on your booking on your arrival to The Drovers Arms. Whilst your personal booking confirmation stated a Private hut it was unfortunatley on this occasion this information was not send through from your booking to us. We did within minutes of your sitting down we manage to rearrange the diary to accommodate your request for a Private Hut swiftly so there was not too much disruption. It was myself personally that arranged for swapping of your tables, I apologies if my attitude put you off in anyway, there certainly was not intentional, the restaurant was fully booked and my priority was to get a hut sorted for you as quickly and efficiently as possible. Booked for father's day with my dad and brother. Friendly staff and great service. The food looked amazing and tasted delicious, really good sized portions(we all had a roasts and puddings). We sat outside in a little hut, which had blankets and when we finished it was raining and one of the staff took us to our car with umbrellas. A little on the expensive side, but definitely worth it for a treat. Would recommend and book again in the future.

We’ve been before and always enjoyed the food. Today’s Sunday roast was beautiful and very well presented. The pub/restaurant is lively since its refurbishment .

Service and food very good. Wine suggestion also good. Husband had steak with blue cheese which was outstanding. I had the crayfish salad which was ok but I felt needed a little more Oomph. I hadn’t realised that crayfish weren’t as tasty as say lobster. But plenty more to try next time.

Fantastic food with excellent service. Amazing menu and staff looked after us very well. Would highly recommend Very coeliac aware which was very reassuring.
