Great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere – what more could you want from a restaurant and country pub! 2024 has seen an extensive £150,000 refurbishment creating a stylish and contemporary restaurant & country pub..

Set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, it is the main destination inn in the area. The delicious created dishes on our menu are locally sourced and reflect the changing seasons, mirroring the wonderful walks to be found through Skipwith Common, right on its doorstep.

Service very professional and unobtrusive by staff, only criticism we had to wait a long time for our food, we ordered 2 mains. The table next to us received both starters and mains before our mains. A member of staff noticed and brought us some bread. They have refurbished the Drovers, all areas including the bar area tables and seating are the same, for me they have lost the pub feel by doing this.

From the moment we walked through the door, the service was impeccable. Beautifully laid tables with attention to detail, stylish decor, very comfortable chairs and a varied and inventive menu to cater for all dietary requirements. We were both impressed with our food choices, generous portions, very tasty indeed, we were even given a free starter of warm rosemary bread and delicious butter packs. I had booked this as a Birthday treat for a friend, there was a card on the table from the staff, and a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate with ice cream and fruit appeared after our main course, free of charge! Really couldn’t have been any better, made my friend feel spoilt and special, and me too btw! Thank You to the Drovers Arms and staff

Warm welcome and attentive staff made my mum feel very special on her birthday. Food was delicious.

Absolutely fantastic evening. The staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. We waited a while for our food but it didn't matter as they brought us some delicious bread and the food was well worth the wait. We can't wait to come back!!!

From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome and looked after very well. The service was spot on, they made time to explain the menu and the soup of the day. When it came to our food, we ordered the sharing plate of steak medium rare which was done to perfection., not to mention the actual taste was exceptional. Everything was done to a very high standard and the atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing, everyone was having a great time. I would recommend the Drovers Arms to all my friends and family.

We had a warm friendly greeting when we arrived. The restaurant was busy but we were seated straight away and not kept waiting long to order. The soup & beetroot houmous starters were delicious. Our mains, we both had steak, they were cooked to our preference and were very tender & tasty, the sauces to accompany were full of flavour but not overpowering. The jam roly poly cheesecake was out of this world. We had an enjoyable evening and would highly recommend paying them a visit.

The service and food where very good .We where greeted on arrival and shown to our table and the service was attentive all evening .The food also was very good and I can recommend the fish and chips or the steak and ale pie .
