Rockwall native, Chef David Hoffman and his wife, restaurant and wine industry veteran Jenni Hoffman, opened The Downing Bottles & Bites in order to bring their experience and expertise home to historic Downtown Rockwall. When you stop in, you'll be greeted by our retail and tasting area, where you can purchase wine and craft beer by the bottle to enjoy at home.
Or stay awhile in our cozy café, where Chef David and his team serve up the very best small plates, sandwiches, and salads, desserts. Our full-bar offers seasonal and classic cocktails, fine wines, and craft beer. With both indoor and patio seating, it's the best spot for a date, girl's night, family dinner, or quick weekday lunch in Rockwall.

We love DB&B. This was one of the first restaurants we ate at when we moved here and it is still our favorite. The chef has great instincts about beer, wine, drinks and food. There’s great variety and the rotating specials keep us coming back. The noise level is not too high and they play great music at a low level so it’s not an annoyance.

Our book club meets once a month. We've tried all of the restaurants in downtown Rockwall and, hands down, this is the best! When the weather is fine, we reserve a table outside. When it's not great outside, we usually prefer the tasting room. Always, we leave happy!

Exceptional food. Very thoughtfully prepared and unique in its own way. Fresh and high quality. Nice environment and great staff.

This small and very local restaurant is a gem. It's a great people watching, wine curator, interesting food spot for people looking for a great place to hang out. Go. Go when you get a chance.

The food and wine were delicious. The hostess and our server were friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a welcoming community vibe. We look forward to enjoying the experience again soon.

This is a local gem that is in Rockwall’s fabulous square. Food was great and service was friendly and attentive. We will be back!!
