Our chefs use only the freshest, local, and best quality seasonal produce. With delightful views over the golf course set in the Derbyshire countryside, the Dovecote is ideal as a venue for entertaining business clients at conferences, family celebrations or enjoying a quiet candle-lit meal for two. Situated within easy reach of Derby and Nottingham with ample free car parking facilities.
Our award winning Two Rosette restaurant is currently serving Champagne Breakfast, for that special treat Wednesday - Saturday. Afternoon Tea's are served Thursday - Saturday. Dinner is served on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we also offer a three course Sunday Lunch. A great selection of local drinks, fresh cocktails and a well-stocked cellar provides superb wine to accompany your meal.
We are currently not serving midweek lunch.

Service was outstanding, food fantastic and atmosphere quiet and relaxing. They even recognised it was our anniversary with a card.

We always enjoy the meals at the Dovecote but this time the food was excellent the best we’ve had in a long time. Complemented by impressive service. A thoroughly enjoyable occasion.

We have a mixed review really as we have been 3 times now for afternoon tea. Morley Hayes itself is lovely , the Dovecote resturant is lovely and we were sat at a nice table . The staff are very friendly and the girl who served us was very nice . We love the Derbyshire tea, so much that we went home and ordered some online . However, the actual afternoon tea we feel isnt as good as other places we have been , it looks quite sparse on the 2 lower levels with just the 2 scones and pot of jam or cream, i suppose this is because the sandwiches are placed infront of you on a plate. I think they should be on the tier plates so you can chose what to eat first . We took the top tier 3 cakes home as we were full and had them later on. Or i say we ate them later on .... The pistacio one wasnt very nice and was messy to eat , the chocolate one was so stong that i had to spit it and and i didnt even eat the blackcurrent one as my partner said it was horrible ,so both of us didnt enjoy any of the top tier cakes. Will we return in the future , no not for afternoon tea !! Would i recommend the afternoon tea, no i dont think i would as ive had nicer looking presentation and much nicer cakes elsewhere . So yes the restaurant is very nice and posh, but the afternoon tea was a let down

The service to start with was a bit slow as I think they had forgotten we were there the food was tasty as always but my beef was well done when i asked for pink and the carrots and broccoli were very hard not cooked quite enough I don't like them overdone but these were difficult to cut into- However this will not stop us from returning

For some reason we hadn't had dinner in The Dovecote before, it was as we expected. The food and service were wonderful, it is a bit pricey but well worth it for the food and service that you get, we would definitely recommend it.
