Exciting times here at The Dovecote, we are having a refurbishment!

This affects reservations made between 17th Feb and 7th March, Opening hours will remain the same, however we will be moving the restaurant into our Granary Loft function suite while we carry out the works. Access will be through our function entrance.

Unfortunately during this period there will be no disabled access or disabled toilets.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all back, customers old and new and hope you love the refurbishment as much as we do!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel and we had a 3 course meal on the Saturday evening and a 3 course Sunday lunch the following day in the Dovecote restaurant and they were both exceptional. We had a wonderful dinning experience and the staff were superb. It wasn’t cheap to eat at the Dovecote but you are paying for the quality and experience so if you fancy a treat i would highly recommend.

A frequent visitor to Dovecote restaurant and this being a special occasion to push the boat out. Started perfect but after a 45 minute wait to be shown to our table and then another 20 minute waiting for our first course it were quickly going downhill. Starters were absolutely terrible, extremely salty.. other half managed his due to be very hungry being over a hour from our booking time. Main course, must admit the meat.. outstanding but again the garlic mushroom extremely salty. Really don’t know what chef were cooking but he/she really needs to taste his/her food before sending it out. We both left very hungry, we had the main sharer. One onion ring each and 4 chips each. Won’t be returning again, disappointing.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch for four of us. Good food, and good service. Even got a birthday card!

Excellent Menu, difficult to choose. We were all delighted with the dishes we did select. The lamb was outstanding in tenderness and flavour. The halibut was equally good. As usual the service was of the highest quality.
