Pull back the portico curtains and step into the historic downtown Newport mansion once owned by businessman Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt that has been reimagined as a glamorous social hub with a culinary secret to discover at every turn. From an intimate dining room with an intriguing menu of savory local dishes to the sun-dappled Conservatory and dining al fresco in The Garden, the dining scene at The Vanderbilt is crackling with alluring eccentricities just waiting to be explored.

Important Notes: Reservations are held for 15 minutes beyond the scheduled arrival time, and during peak service hours you may not be seated until your entire party has arrived. Once your party is assembled, we will offer you the next available table for a party of your size. Also, we do our utmost to accommodate all guest requests upon check-in, but unfortunately cannot guarantee any particular seating preferences.

Excellent place for a breakfast. If you’re in Newport to experience the Gilded Age, this is definitely the place.

All the food here was delicious that we had. The ricotta gnocchi was fresh. The salmon was really tasty and the burger had great flavor. All the servers and hostesses were extremely friendly.

Our first time at the Vanderbilt. Amazing dinner! The food, drinks and service were spectacular from start to finish. Sophie and Zach get 5 stars! We will definitely be returning.

The food is outstanding and so are the waitstaff.I highly recommend going and checkout the rooftop.Gorgeous views.

We were so surprised finding this unique restaurant in a beautiful neighborhood. Our lunch was amazing our service was amazing and the patio for lunch was amazing. We’re coming back soon.

Food was okay but Lisa at the Hostess Stand and Antonio were amazing and deserve 6 out of 5 stars! Shelby was amazing too!!
