   We very much enjoyed our two evening meals at the Salishan. The entire event (service, food, atmosphere) was very good. The first night there were not many guests but the 2nd night filled up but they still provided the same type of service as the first night. Not a large selection but something for everyone.

   Wonderful location with excellent food and outstanding wine and service. Best restaurant on the central Oregon coast.

   The wine list is way over priced. The food was mediocre at best and served tepid. The service was slow and unprofessional. We ate on Christmas Eve. If they were not able to staff the restaurant adequately, they should have not been open.

   This dining room is timeless. Beautiful setting, warm, inviting and serene. That said, the food is marginal and doesn’t keep up with the environment. The hazelnuts in our salad were rancid and both our dinners were served lukewarm. The flavor on the lamb was excellent though. Next night we went to Kyllo’s, while their menu isn’t as sophisticated, it was all delicious and served hot. Salishan perhaps should get back to basics with their food and focus on good quality served hot, as opposed to a more sophisticated menu that isn’t executed overly well. We were glad the dining room is back open though!

   We were there on Thanksgiving evening. We’ were grateful for our fantastic waitress and the amazing oysters.

   We didn't need a reservation, we were the only ones in the dining room. I treated my daughter for her birthday dinner celebration. After reading the ENTIRE menu, she said what she'd really like was linguine and clams. I told her we were at a restaurant where they have a chef and that they'd make whatever she liked. And they DID! She said it was the BEST dish, of that kind, she'd EVER eaten! She then asked for bread; it arrived about 25 minutes later, which was fine with us. It turned out the chef didn't have just any old bread, he (or she) made her a foccacia in its own little cast iron skillet, with special chives butter! She LOVED it. Then, because I'd check the "birthday" box when making the reservation, the very attentive waiter offered her any dessert from the menu, as a birthday gift. She chose something like hazelnut donut holes, with special sauces...and LOVED that, too! The meal was quite reasonably priced, especially for all of our special orders! The dining room was quiet, and just the right temperature, next to the large windows. We felt very special having the entire place to ourselves, and were very satisfied with our experience.    Service was not good for a resort type setting. Waitress did not come back for water or drink refills. Food took over an hour to reach our table and filet mignon was tough to cut.

   Lovely serene setting looking out into green woods; dinner special, venison, was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Wine list featuring Oregon wines is ample and nicely matched to food choices. Quiet atmosphere allows conversation; service is friendly and professional. We had dinner two nights in a row because we enjoyed the ambiance and food so much.

   We made reservations for my sisters 50th bday. We had eight of us in our party. Our food was amazing the service was entertaining with multiple servers bringing our all out food at the same time.

    We've been so Salishan many times, and we were very excited about their new chef/menu. It took more than 45 minutes for our hors d'oeuvre to arrive (we ordered the artichoke), the flavor was amazing, however there was no meat whatsoever on the small sized artichoke. It took an additional 45 minutes for our dinner to arrive, only to have the rack of lamb arrive room temperature. Very disappointing. The clam linguine had amazing flavor, however, it was very cumbersome to eat as the pasta is piled in with the clam shells, and you have to laboriously fork out the individual clams from the shells. After inquiring at about an hour and half into our wait, the waitress (who seemed sheepish about check in with us), said that there was a table of 20, and only one kitchen (and I'm assuming their orders were put in before ours?). I wish she would have been up front with us when we checked in with her the first time. Amazing flavor to the dishes, but no sense of time and an awkward/cumbersome texture issue with all of the dishes we ate. Would not recommend.
