I really have to speak to the service here, which was absolutely top notch. I was so impressed with the high level and haven’t experienced that at many other restaurants at this price point. The food was fantastic from start to finish and very seasonal, which was an extra benefit. Highly recommend- thank you to the fantastic staff for a great evening!

The Davidson had hits and misses. First of all it was full of people, which is great for downtown. The atmosphere is very fun. Hits: the tuna tartare cones are delicious. The coq au vin was very nice and lots of food on the plate. The scallops were well cooked (ie: n ot chewy). Wait staff was very friendly Misses: Wait staff was friendly but forgot us a few times. The $10 bread and butter is pretty ridiculous: 1/4 baguette with various butters. The regular butter really should be salted, it was very bland. Nothing there worth $10. The scallops were good but they were SWIMMING in beurre blanc sauce. It was kind of unappetizing because it was impossible to avoid all of the melted butter. Also, they were on green beans and a very tiny amount of mashed sweet potatoes. Those potatoes were the best thing on the dish and I think there was maybe a tablespoon total. And finally, no dessert in a restaurant with Italian and French influences??? Impossible!

I visited the Davidson this past Saturday with some friends from out of town. We were seated at a lovely table and had wonderful service. Most of the food was excellent except for the pesto pasta dish my friend ordered. She was disappointed as the dish was not very warm and lacked flavor. I highly recommend the fondue. I will definitely return with my husband.

The food was great. Service was good, but staff was not. I had reservations at 5:30. We were originally seated at a table that faced a server station and not conducive for face to face conversation, all three of us were facing the server station like sitting at a bar. When we asked to be reseated at a regular table the staff openly acted put off. Our server was standoff-ish and short when we asked for anything. While the food was great, I will not return due to my overall feelings of the way we were treated.

The Davidson is a wonderful restaurant. The service is great and our server made our anniversary a very special celebration. Kristin was attentive to our every need.

My second visit and food did not disappoint again. Natalie had perfect service. Tuna and carpaccio crudo a MUST. The perfectly paired orchestra of flavor. I could eat it everyday. Then scallop perfectly seared. I repeated the veal cutlet, only complaint is the plate. it had taller sides which made it ridiculous to cut the cutlet. So wider or flat plate next time please. It was quite loud in the patio so if you prefer quiet it might be a bother.

We had a party of 9. We asked for the bill to be split 5 ways. The manager was very nice and so was the server, but the bill splitting was a disaster. I used to be a server years ago and splitting the bill was not a big deal years ago so I'm not sure why it was such a disaster tonight. They had to redo the bill multiple times to get it right. Rubys splits the bill with no issues and so does every resturant that we dine at and we r out every weekend. Unfortunately even tho we love the atmosphere and food...this was a deal breaker and we will not be back with a group.

We had a wonderful meal at the Davidson! The Moroccan Eggplant and the chicken dish were particularly phenomenal. The hostess Ella was charming and helped make our experience quite memorable. Also, our server Casey was friendly and professional, and he gave us excellent recommendations.
