The Daffodil is a Michelin-awarded food-led country pub, with high quality Shepherd's Hut accommodation (bookable directly via The Daffodil website and via Air B&B) in the pretty rural village of Penrhiwllan. Located 4 miles from Newcastle Emlyn, midway between Cardigan, Carmarthen & Aberystwyth, it's an ideal location for a few days rest or a relaxing meal in scenic surroundings.

Food at The Daffodil is freshly prepared using the best quality local produce wherever possible. The menu, available to guests eating in the restaurant, bar areas and outside decking over-looking the unspoilt valley incorporates dishes appropriate for full three-course dining and for those wishing for more traditional bar-meal-style dining. Guests can watch our chefs working in full view in our gallery kitchen, or enjoy the unspoilt view across the valley, eating on the south-facing decking.

What a brilliant find!! We had Sunday Lunch at the Daffodil which was fabulous. Freshly cooked food and vegetables, which was just bursting with flavour. Not a boiled piece of white cabbage in sight!! Plenty gravy too which is always a tick in my box. There was a good choice of starters, but we went for mains and dessert. The dessert menu had a good selection on offer. We had the Eton Mess, and Sticky Toffee Pudding which were equally delicious. Service was attentive and professional. Can't wait to go back to the Daffodil. Well done to the whole team.

If you're seeking a dining experience that combines exceptional food with a warm ambience, look no further than The Daffodil Inn. Nestled in the heart of Wales, this charming restaurant exceeded all expectations, making it the best dining establishment I've encountered in the region. When we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel incredibly welcome. What struck me most was the balance of flavours in every dish we tried. Each bite was a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs at The Daffodil Inn. Moreover, the prices were surprisingly reasonable given the caliber of the food and service. It's rare to find such high quality without breaking the bank, making The Daffodil Inn a true hidden gem for both locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was another highlight. Its cosy decor and calming ambience provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. However, I would advise booking a table in advance, as this popular spot tends to fill up quickly. In conclusion, I cannot recommend The Daffodil Inn enough. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge in fantastic food, this place ticks all the boxes.

The quality of the produce was excellent but the combination of flavours and styles on one plate was confused and over complicated. The charcuterie board was a range of traditional English, Spanish, Italian fayre with not a single French item (with a possible exception of the whole grain mustard?)and a chutney that resembled Lebanese or Syrian influences. The pea and asparagus tart was not a tart but a mush of pea and asparagus in a filo pastry dish with an over baring amount of something that mashed some of the pea and asparagus together. It was stone cold when one would expect the tart to be warm or at room temperature at best. Lovely setting and friendly service where nothing was too much trouble. The pork belly was lovely but again confused by Lavantesque flavours! Less more simple approach would have been more….

We really enjoyed our meal here. The food was excellent and the service and ambience of what was a quiet lunch time was very good.
