The Daffodil is a Michelin-awarded food-led country pub, with high quality Shepherd's Hut accommodation (bookable directly via The Daffodil website and via Air B&B) in the pretty rural village of Penrhiwllan. Located 4 miles from Newcastle Emlyn, midway between Cardigan, Carmarthen & Aberystwyth, it's an ideal location for a few days rest or a relaxing meal in scenic surroundings.

Food at The Daffodil is freshly prepared using the best quality local produce wherever possible. The menu, available to guests eating in the restaurant, bar areas and outside decking over-looking the unspoilt valley incorporates dishes appropriate for full three-course dining and for those wishing for more traditional bar-meal-style dining. Guests can watch our chefs working in full view in our gallery kitchen, or enjoy the unspoilt view across the valley, eating on the south-facing decking.

this was our first visit to the daffodil and everything about it was excellent from being seated to enjoying a delightful meal with outstanding service we will definitely be back (we have a static caravan in New Quay) Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. All very welcoming and friendly, really good value for money and our 2 dogs billy and riley loved their doggy bag later

Great food. Clean plates all round. Dogs had a lovely welcome and the owner actually thanked me for bringing them - a first for us! Highly recommend

We had a lovely experience. The service was 5⭐️The food incredible!!! I had the nut roast. Best I’ve ever had!!! The waiting staff was efficient and friendly!! Our only tiny issue was having to stop chatting while the dogs were barking!!!!! We will definitely be back!!

We have visited numerous times when we’ve been on holiday in Aberporth, so it’s a bit of a drive, but so worth it. The brisket Sunday lunch is outstanding, my husband had the sirloin yesterday and said it was perfect. I chose the coconut mousse for my dessert and was a little disappointed, as the texture was a little ‘weird’ not really mousse like, though the mango sorbet was delicious. The staff are always attentive and pleasant and the surroundings are very picturesque. There were some dogs in the ante room yesterday that were somewhat vocal, but all in all, another very good experience at The Daffodil 😊

We were staying in Newquay and a friend recommended the Daffodil. We had no problem booking a table and it was only a 20 minute drive for us. The staff were all very helpful and the food was lovely, we were served promptly but never felt we were being rushed. The food certainly isn’t cheap but it was delicious. There were only a couple of things I wasn’t 100% happy about. Firstly the car park is really quite small and I couldn’t see any blue badge spaces; given the number of tables I would have expected a larger car park. Secondly the menu is fairly limited; yes there was a ‘specials’ board but they’d sold out of several specials by the time we got there at 6.45pm. I will be going back though.
