Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.

The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023.

At this time we are unable to accommodate severe allium and dairy allergies as well as vegan and vegetarian diets.

    Absolutely spectacular food, ambience and service. The Dabney never let's me down. It has gotten very expensive, so be prepared for the cost.

    The food was outstanding. Maybe the best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Not only was it creative, but the ingredients were fresh, bright, and delicious. Also enjoyed the atmosphere and the tucked-away feel of the location. As if all that wasn’t enough to make for an exceptional experience, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I’d give The Dabney 10 stars if that was possible.

    Absolute fantastic experience during my solo, 3-course prix fixe meal at the bar. I had an early, 5:30pm seating, and there were relatively few people in the restaurant, and no one else at the bar, for most of my meal. I went with the bartenders recommendations for my choices. They were outstanding. Thanks for the super experience & meal.

    This is the only time of our many times at The Dabney where the service was slightly short of outstanding. Our only complaint is the pacing of the meal was far too slow. We were literally the last people in the restaurant and had to go hunting for someone to bring us the check so we could go home. At times the person taking care of our table disappeared for long periods of time. On average, our meals at The Dabney last between 2 hours and 2 hours 15 minutes. This time was a full 3 hours. Will happily go again, but hopefully slightly faster paced meal.

    Simply put, this will be your next perfect dinner and dining experience. From the initial greeting and the surprise-highlight walk to the table to the introduction of each beverage and dish, the hospitality from anyone and everyone who touched our table was impeccable. The vast variety and uniqueness of literally every single menu item that comprised the very deep tasting menu was endlessly interesting, fresh, creative and yes, delicious. The entire team knows what they are doing. They know what their guests expect of the evening. And because of their acumen and dedication, you are in for an unforgettably mind-blowing meal and experience. And while that high bar would scare most restaurants, I am sure this one embraces the challenge to ensure you have the exact same evening we did. And I am confident they will achieve it.

    The atmosphere is darling from the greeting drinks to the warm hearth. The food showcase elevated American cuisine. The bean dish was exceptional. Service was excellent- attentive and prompt. We will be back.
