Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.

The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023.

At this time we are unable to accommodate severe allium and dairy allergies as well as vegan and vegetarian diets.

    Disappointing service and food. Food came out cold, under seasoned and most of the proteins were undercooked. FOH staff dismissive of concerns. Perhaps it was an off night but at this price point not worth risking disappointment by trying again. Shining light was wine program - excellent.

    Service was amazing! The food was GOOD. But in the end this place was way over-priced, making it a cool experience but an overall poor value. Again, service was amazing, but I expect more from a food perspective to merit a $700 meal for two (including drinks). That price tag included a hefty service charge for the staff, which was largely merited given the stellar service, but it also contributed to leaving one feeling conflicted on the overall value given the food you get for the money. Also, one of us had a dietary restriction, but items were removed from our 8 (teeny tiny) courses vs. items being swapped in. Again, no issue spending the coin if the value is there. We enjoyed spending our anniversary there though! Again, the staff and level of service was incredible!

    Our new favorite restaurant. The atmosphere, service, and food were fantastic, and it was a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.

    The high chairs in bar area sit on uneven pavers so it’s not easy at all to slide the chair to table. Put little silicone socks on high chair legs

    Personally we were a bit disappointed because we thought it would be more intimate. Being our anniversary we thought we would at least get a little something extra but that wasn’t the case. Especially for the price point, I feel the portions were soo small too.

    Food at Dabney is great. Had three courses in bar and felt rushed. No time to enjoy cocktails before it was right into first course. Also high top was nice but is oddly placed. Was just a bit disappointed.
