"The Cygnet at The Swan" is an award winning restaurant led by Paul Welburn (previously awarded Michelin star at The Oxford Kitchen 2018). We have currently been awarded "3AA Rosettes" since being open, as well as both local awards "Ox in a Box" and "Muddy Stilettos Best Restaurant" awards.

We are open from Wednesday to Saturday, bookings are encouraged but not necessary. Our style is a "relaxed fine dining" always looking out for our guests comfort and experience.

Our food is a fusion of British cuisine with Paul's personal twists.
We offer our signature 4 course tasting menu for the evening (or lunch, just ask us) using seasonal ingredients.
Our menu can be enjoyed with matching wines handpicked by the restaurant staff.
Our menu is everchanging with the seasons, so there is always a reason to visit again!
We also offer our grazing menu for all lunchtimes and some evenings, with a selection of smaller and larger plates, ordered and served as and when for a more relaxing style.

Our signature tasting menu - £69 Our menu is everchanging, and we always look to offer something special and different to our new and returning guests. Please make us aware of any dietary requirements before arriving at our restaurant, as we may not be able to effectively cater for you without notice. We have a vegetarian menu available for our guests, but are currently unable to cater for vegans. Our lounge is open from 6pm, should you wish to arrive before your booking time and enjoy a drink on the sofa.

Grape Minds - Loire Valley Wine Evening

A special one-off evening featuring the wines of Loire Valley, specially picked by Graeme & Michael from Grape Minds in Summertown. Snacks will be served from 7pm in our lounge, with our main meal beginning at 7.30pm. Please note that as this is a special menu, we are not able to cater to any changes on our menu or dietary requirements, including vegetarians or vegans. Our apologies for the inconvenience. An all-inclusive price of £95 per person for a 3 course meal with snacks, wine and coffee.

Short lunch menu but usually is good for fresh home cooked food, could not fault. Best fine dining with in 40 min drive. Definitely be back. So friendly too.

Superb quality interesting food at very reasonable price especially the set lunch. Deserves to be better known and a 'must go' place to dine out in the area.

fabulous food. Well done to The Cygnet! Absolutely worth making the short trip from Oxford to Islip. The Cygnet is rapidly establishing itself as a major dining destination.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting! The food was amazing in terms of flavour, quality and presentation. Staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the food. Service was excellent.

Everything was excellent, from the greeting at the door, to the attentive service and the delicious and meticulously prepared food. Fine dining at its best, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Thank goodness we persevered with the journey (thanks to the floods) because the overall experience was absolutely awesome. Food as faultless as ever, great wine pairings and super attentive service made everything more than worth it. Would have no hesitation in recommending The Cygnet to anyone. Thanks to the team at The Cygnet for making our day special.
