Located in St. Sampsons Square - a historic part of York’s city centre known for selling great meat since the 12th century - The Cut & Craft York is widely considered one of York’s best steak restaurants.

Boasting its own in-house master butcher and a signature 10oz Flat Iron steak, this elegant restaurant is stylishly decorated with historic features throughout. Open daily for lunch and dinner, with brunch and roasts on the weekends, it’s centrally located close to the famous mediaeval York Shambles and under the shadow of York Minster.

Named 'Restaurant of the Year' at the Yorkshire National Business Hero Awards in 2023 and 2024, The Cut & Craft combines contemporary steak and seafood dishes with a premium list of locally-crafted drinks.

Such a lovely night. Great food and a lovely restaurant. Staff were lovely and a really nice table for 7 of us.

Food was very nice as always, service was a bit below par, had to ask for the same thing a few times and at times it did all feel a little bit chaotic but overall a good evening

There were four of us for Sunday lunch. We ordered the sharing plate and it was delicious. A huge Yorkshire pudding each plus chicken, belly pork and roast beef plus vegetables. The service was prompt and the staff were efficient, professional and personable. We will definitely return.

The menu has been changed since the last yearly visit, the criss cut sides were missed aswell as the flavoured cider.

Travelled from Hull to have Sunday Roast but after being sat down at our table they told us they had no Sunday Roast left. Devastated.
