Located in St. Sampsons Square - a historic part of York’s city centre known for selling great meat since the 12th century - The Cut & Craft York is widely considered one of York’s best steak restaurants.

Boasting its own in-house master butcher and a signature 10oz Flat Iron steak, this elegant restaurant is stylishly decorated with historic features throughout. Open daily for lunch and dinner, with brunch and roasts on the weekends, it’s centrally located close to the famous mediaeval York Shambles and under the shadow of York Minster.

Named 'Restaurant of the Year' at the Yorkshire National Business Hero Awards in 2023 and 2024, The Cut & Craft combines contemporary steak and seafood dishes with a premium list of locally-crafted drinks.

We had a really lovely flat iron steak which was £16. Great price ! We ordered 3 sides; cheesy broccoli and cauliflower, spinach and asparagus flavoured in garlic and creamy mash. All the sides were gorgeous !! Although we did have to send 2 back as they were not warm enough. The next lot was piping hot. Service was really fast and we had a lovely waiter.

Went for our anniversary last night . First came here 3 years ago for silver anniversary and wa so impressed I have to say last night was also amazing Lovely food and friendly staff Absolutely perfect! We will definitely back

Wow! Cut & Craft blew me away. The service was exceptional, the food tasted amazing and all for a good price. Completely exceeded my expectations and can't wait to go back. Plus, my colleague, who is gluten free, had their own menu. None of this silly scanning a QR code! Top marks

The food in cut and craft is incredible, I often visit the restaurant in Leeds so this is why some stars are lower.

First time visitor with my wife for our Anniversary - it certainly won’t be our last visit. The place was spotless, staff were so welcoming. Drinks and food was absolutely superb and came as requested. Cannot fault anything and will definitely be back again and again.
