Located in the historic town of Kenilworth in the heart of Warwickshire, The Cross is an award-winning pub that combines Michelin-starred food with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

Under the guidance of chef-director Adam Bennett, we have held a Michelin star for over nine years and are proud to boast three AA Rosettes. We received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

The Cross is housed in a Grade II listed 19th-century inn and has been sympathetically restored to retain its heritage alongside contemporary touches that make it a fabulous place to enjoy great food, a casual atmosphere and informal but attentive service.

Our main dining room is a former school room that leads to a cosy and welcoming bar - previously a butcher's shop.

Another dining room overlooks the pass, where guests can glimpse the team of chefs busily at work.

We have a green and spacious pub garden, perfect for aperitifs, cocktails and post-dinner drinks.

From the moment we arrived the service was exemplary. The staff certainly knew all they needed to in order to make our experience a memorable one. We were celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday, so the card on our table was a lovely touch. The menu was fabulous, with enough choice but not too extensive a menu to leave you feeling bewildered. The gentleman who looked after us was friendluly, attentive and informative and nothing was too much trouble. Every course was presented beautifully, fresh, vibrant and tasted amazing. The complimentary amuse-bouche and apres dessert treats were fabulous. We would all recommend The Cross for an all round wonderful experience and the perfect place for a special occasion.

All three courses was excellent. The staff was lovely and accommdating. Lovely venue. Definitely will be booking again.

Food at The Cross was excellent, the prices were reasonable considering this is a Michelin starred restaurant. The service was excellent from start to finish with special touches because it was my birthday. Good choice of menu/food and you can have the tasting menu or a three course A La Carte or a three course more limited choice but all options looked good. The explanation of the food and dishes was good so we understood what was in each dish. The surroundings are lovely but quite informal so it feels relaxing and we had a drink outside before going indoors for the food.

Amazing food and set lunch is excellent value. We are looking forward to coming back again to try The Taster Menu.

First visit, a gift from our three adult children. We absolutely loved everything and will definitely return. Two vegetarians for lunch, we had the tasting menu. The food was wonderful, thoughtfully served with nice spacing. Excellent wine list with many bottles at what I thought for this type of restaurant were very well priced. Service excellent, they managed the discreet, polite, relaxed and fun perfectly. Great atmosphere, cocktails in the garden to start in sunshine were super. Thank you to everyone to make it a very memorable lunch.

The Cross was absolutely fantastic. We went for my wife's birthday and there were some lovely touches including a card on arrival and and special dessert (won't say what to keep it a surprise for anyone else!). We had the tasting menu, which was absolutely delicious and better than many other Michelin starred restaurants we have visited. I had let the restaurant know in advance that my wife is gluten intolerant, and they made gluten free bread for her and adjusted certain courses - though we were pleasantly surprised by how little change was needed across the 7 courses. One course was swapped with no question too as my wife didn't fancy the steak tartare (though it was delicious, as she realised when trying mine!). The wine pairings were excellent too, and we enjoyed chatting with our waiter about the reasons behind the choices. He also changed one of the wines immediately when we all agreed it wasn't right with the dish. All in all a fantastic meal in a lovely venue with a great, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a new favourite restaurant for us and we will certainly be back!
