Located in the historic town of Kenilworth in the heart of Warwickshire, The Cross is an award-winning pub that combines Michelin-starred food with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

Under the guidance of chef-director Adam Bennett, we have held a Michelin star for over nine years and are proud to boast three AA Rosettes. We received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

The Cross is housed in a Grade II listed 19th-century inn and has been sympathetically restored to retain its heritage alongside contemporary touches that make it a fabulous place to enjoy great food, a casual atmosphere and informal but attentive service.

Our main dining room is a former school room that leads to a cosy and welcoming bar - previously a butcher's shop.

Another dining room overlooks the pass, where guests can glimpse the team of chefs busily at work.

We have a green and spacious pub garden, perfect for aperitifs, cocktails and post-dinner drinks.

BY TRAIN The closest station to The Cross is Kenilworth Station, only one mile away (about a five-minute drive). The Cross was absolutely fantastic. We went for my wife's birthday and there were some lovely touches including a card on arrival and and special dessert (won't say what to keep it a surprise for anyone else!). We had the tasting menu, which was absolutely delicious and better than many other Michelin starred restaurants we have visited. I had let the restaurant know in advance that my wife is gluten intolerant, and they made gluten free bread for her and adjusted certain courses - though we were pleasantly surprised by how little change was needed across the 7 courses. One course was swapped with no question too as my wife didn't fancy the steak tartare (though it was delicious, as she realised when trying mine!). The wine pairings were excellent too, and we enjoyed chatting with our waiter about the reasons behind the choices. He also changed one of the wines immediately when we all agreed it wasn't right with the dish. All in all a fantastic meal in a lovely venue with a great, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a new favourite restaurant for us and we will certainly be back!

Stunning restaurant in a nice setting, large convenient car park. The food is always to the standard you would expect from a Michelin Star establishment and they just do it as a matter of course.

Excellent food all six people enjoyed every course. Had some amazing wine too.

Stunning meal for wife's 50th. (1st time at a Michelin star restaurant) Had the Taster Menu with wine flight on a Thursday lunchtime. Incredible service and food delectable. Would recommend for an occasion meal. Chefs are both culinary geniuses and artistic wonders. Presentation of dishes A*** Service superb as well as wine explanation.

Absolutely beautifully prepared and presented food with a deep flavour profile with very attentive service. Extra care given as it was my partner's birthday.

Always a great evening at the Cross. My husbands birthday and we were greeted warmly and card left on the table. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing. The sommelier Amelia was outstanding, we really enjoyed her explanation and knowledge of the wine and why they were paired with the specific dish. She really enriched our experience. Our favourite dishes were the beef tartare, lamb and onion starter. I would only say, some of the dishes I thought were slightly small. Understand it is a tasting menu, but the turbot portion was less than matchbox size. Also some of the crust of the sourdough was burnt which made it quite bitter. The staff are always great and we will be back soon I’m sure.

Being a Michelin stared restaurant you need to expect that it’s more expensive than your average. For a special occasion and to enjoy tastes that you will be blown away with then The Cross provides the complete package. Every time I have had the fortune to visit I’ve come away feeling very spoilt to have such a great place locally . Well done to everyone who works at The Cross you all add your bit to making it such a great experience.

Fresh , vibrant, inventive ,possibly one of the best meals that I have ever eaten. From the amuse bouches to the cardamom chocolate with the coffee everything was a taste explosion. Asparagus and crab was so light and fresh. Lamb with samphire was just the best. Hazelnut soufflé was heaven. I particularly like the sauces in little jugs so you can add more !! Wine delicious! Service so friendly and quietly efficient. Thanks for my birthday card and chocolates!! Perfick!
