Located in the historic town of Kenilworth in the heart of Warwickshire, The Cross is an award-winning pub that combines Michelin-starred food with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

Under the guidance of chef-director Adam Bennett, we have held a Michelin star for over nine years and are proud to boast three AA Rosettes. We received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

The Cross is housed in a Grade II listed 19th-century inn and has been sympathetically restored to retain its heritage alongside contemporary touches that make it a fabulous place to enjoy great food, a casual atmosphere and informal but attentive service.

Our main dining room is a former school room that leads to a cosy and welcoming bar - previously a butcher's shop.

Another dining room overlooks the pass, where guests can glimpse the team of chefs busily at work.

We have a green and spacious pub garden, perfect for aperitifs, cocktails and post-dinner drinks.

BY TRAIN The closest station to The Cross is Kenilworth Station, only one mile away (about a five-minute drive). Outstanding service from arrival to leaving. Food was exceptional. The background music was a little too quiet, barely audible. I could hear conversations of the people around me and found myself whispering to my partner. However, this has not deterred me from wanting to return.

We visited for Sunday Lunch, the food was excellent, the beef was melt in the mouth tender and the service was excellent. The staff were pleasant and the service was measured, ie: you were not rushed from course to course. A really pleasant experience for a special occasion.

My party was thrilled by the quality of the food, in terms of originality, complexity of flavours and beautiful presentation. We've never sampled food of this standard before, and it was a delight for us all.

5th visit this year says it all. Our favourite Michelin star restaurant in the UK and not just because it is local to us here in Coventry . Tried loads of other ones (inc various two star ones) and always come back to The Cross. Consistently good and a tribute to all the staff. The £50 lunch is an absolute bargain.

The Cross is a lovely venue, quiet and limited tables, but sufficiently busy to generate a dining ambience. We attended on a Sunday for lunch when there were three choices of menu (a la Carte, Tasting and Sunday Roast). We chose off the a la carte menu and all courses were truly superb Michelin quality food, served well with a good ambience from the staff. Whilst the price tag was expectedly high I would wholly recommend this experience.
