Located in the historic town of Kenilworth in the heart of Warwickshire, The Cross is an award-winning pub that combines Michelin-starred food with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

Under the guidance of chef-director Adam Bennett, we have held a Michelin star for over nine years and are proud to boast three AA Rosettes. We received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

The Cross is housed in a Grade II listed 19th-century inn and has been sympathetically restored to retain its heritage alongside contemporary touches that make it a fabulous place to enjoy great food, a casual atmosphere and informal but attentive service.

Our main dining room is a former school room that leads to a cosy and welcoming bar - previously a butcher's shop.

Another dining room overlooks the pass, where guests can glimpse the team of chefs busily at work.

We have a green and spacious pub garden, perfect for aperitifs, cocktails and post-dinner drinks.

BY TRAIN The closest station to The Cross is Kenilworth Station, only one mile away (about a five-minute drive). Overall this was a great experience. The staff were a credit and made the experience very nice. The food was faultless. Enjoyed it very much and we will return.

This was our 5th visit to the Cross it is our closest Michelin starred restaurant and we use it for family celebrations when we can. This visit was not up to the normally high standards we have experienced previously. The food was still extremely good and generous in portions, the dining area is still a wonderful place to be, but the service was off a point or two from what you would expect. We had to ask several times for an additional bottle of water, the water was not topped up frequently and so we had to pour our own, bread plates were not cleared and napkins not refolded when diners left the table. I know these seem tiny issues but when they are usually spot on you notice them when they are not there. So this is not a terrible review far from it, the roast is always a pleasure, the chateaubriand is peerless and the desserts were breathtakingly good, but they felt short of their normal excellence.

As a party of six to celebrate a wedding anniversary we had the tasting menus including vegetarian. From the amuse bouche onwards the food was outstanding, clever, beautiful and tasty. for all of us it was so good especially the soufle as dessert. Th chocolates in celebration of the anniversary were an added bonus. Faultless. We will be back

Great experience fulfilling my stepson’s wish to eat in a Michelin starred restaurant for his 30th birthday. Didn’t disappoint in any way.

From arrival to departure, we were made to feel “like old friends” without being at all familiar, all the staff are very professional. Our meals were delicious and the staff fully informed and able to describe each dish as it arrived. The great surprise was our wedding anniversary was acknowledged in a most delightful way………how did they know THAT neither of us had mentioned it at the time of booking !!

World class dining with relaxed and knowledgeable service. I especially appreciate that I can enjoy such excellent food in a beautiful garden accompanied by my small well behaved dog.

A first visit, but we will be returning. Service outstanding and food was exceptional. Found the table a little close to our neighbours, but not a huge problem. Only real gripe was the background music, which we found rather atonal and esoteric for our taste but, as the restaurant became busier, this became less of an issue.

A wonderful meal in a peaceful setting with ambient lighting. We had the tasting menu and it met our expectations. The staff were outstanding and a pleasure to talk with. Well worth a visit
