Located in the historic town of Kenilworth in the heart of Warwickshire, The Cross is an award-winning pub that combines Michelin-starred food with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

Under the guidance of chef-director Adam Bennett, we have held a Michelin star for over nine years and are proud to boast three AA Rosettes. We received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

The Cross is housed in a Grade II listed 19th-century inn and has been sympathetically restored to retain its heritage alongside contemporary touches that make it a fabulous place to enjoy great food, a casual atmosphere and informal but attentive service.

Our main dining room is a former school room that leads to a cosy and welcoming bar - previously a butcher's shop.

Another dining room overlooks the pass, where guests can glimpse the team of chefs busily at work.

We have a green and spacious pub garden, perfect for aperitifs, cocktails and post-dinner drinks.

BY TRAIN The closest station to The Cross is Kenilworth Station, only one mile away (about a five-minute drive). Visited a lot of one and two star restaurants across the UK and abroad over the years but the Cross is the one we visit the most. Great staff, consistently good food and service. Lunch menu is a bargain .

Hi, my experience wasn't so excellent, and all it's about food. For start bread crust was really tough. Fish oversalted on main dish, dessert was very blunt just sugar, I did expect more interesting food.

The Cross at Kenilworth - Sunday Lunch 27th October 2024 Preamble: I first visited The Cross in 2017 with my wife. Such was the impact of that experience that we vowed to return each year in October. We managed that for six years, and now I have added another two after the passing of my wife. If you go to The Cross, it does not really matter what you eat, everything will be superb; superb quality meats, vegetables and other ingredients; superb wines, beers, spirits and cocktails; superb service from knowledgeable servers, and the right amount of service, not too much. Review: Food At my latest visit, I had the roast beef - Chateaubriand - medium rare. I had had the roast beef on my first visit, and then it was the finest roast beef I had ever had. That is still true, but the Chateaubriand equalled it. The Jus, was rich and flavourful and the vegetables beautifully cooked and all presented perfectly. Before the beef, I had a Crab tartlet, well flavoured and tasty, after, I finished with the Chocolate Souffle. Perfectly light and delicate with a Lemon Sorbet and some chocolate sauce. Review: Drink: Drink? Yes, and well. I started with a Kir Royale before the meal and moved on to Purity Brewery Longhorn beer, two pints at room temperature, a glass of Tokaj with and after pudding, and finally a Caffe Corretto, a weakness of mine. An espresso or double espresso, with the same volume of the strongest Grappa available. Conclusion: All was superb, there is no weakness. A mention for the staff, they all know when to speak, or not, and when to help, or not. I salute them all. I do not need to mention the Chef-director, although I will - Adam Bennett, and his other chefs, they have won prizes, and will continue to do so. Better judges than I can attest to that. The Michelin star has been there for nine years, I think. Already, I look forward to next years visit. Salud!

Wonderful service and food. First time we have taken our 3.5yr old and she loved it and was surprisingly well behaved for 3hrs. She was all about the chocolate soufflé (and I was reluctant to share as it was so delicious). The halibut & venison dishes were also excellent and that is certainly the best kids meal she has had. Her chicken and vege was great. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and to the team for being so efficient. It remains a firm favourite of ours for service, value and quality.

Five of us went for a birthday treat. Delicious food which looked liked pieces of art on the plate. The service was impeccable and we had a great 60th birthday celebration.

Fantastic experience celebrating our 3rd anniversary. Exquisite food, exemplary service and a wonderful atmosphere. I honestly can say one of the best places to dine.
