Located in the historic town of Kenilworth in the heart of Warwickshire, The Cross is an award-winning pub that combines Michelin-starred food with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

Under the guidance of chef-director Adam Bennett, we have held a Michelin star for over nine years and are proud to boast three AA Rosettes. We received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

The Cross is housed in a Grade II listed 19th-century inn and has been sympathetically restored to retain its heritage alongside contemporary touches that make it a fabulous place to enjoy great food, a casual atmosphere and informal but attentive service.

Our main dining room is a former school room that leads to a cosy and welcoming bar - previously a butcher's shop.

Another dining room overlooks the pass, where guests can glimpse the team of chefs busily at work.

We have a green and spacious pub garden, perfect for aperitifs, cocktails and post-dinner drinks.

BY TRAIN The closest station to The Cross is Kenilworth Station, only one mile away (about a five-minute drive). Absolutely beautifully prepared and presented food with a deep flavour profile with very attentive service. Extra care given as it was my partner's birthday.

Always a great evening at the Cross. My husbands birthday and we were greeted warmly and card left on the table. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing. The sommelier Amelia was outstanding, we really enjoyed her explanation and knowledge of the wine and why they were paired with the specific dish. She really enriched our experience. Our favourite dishes were the beef tartare, lamb and onion starter. I would only say, some of the dishes I thought were slightly small. Understand it is a tasting menu, but the turbot portion was less than matchbox size. Also some of the crust of the sourdough was burnt which made it quite bitter. The staff are always great and we will be back soon I’m sure.

As you would expect from a Starred restaurant everything is first class. Highly recommended

Being a Michelin stared restaurant you need to expect that it’s more expensive than your average. For a special occasion and to enjoy tastes that you will be blown away with then The Cross provides the complete package. Every time I have had the fortune to visit I’ve come away feeling very spoilt to have such a great place locally . Well done to everyone who works at The Cross you all add your bit to making it such a great experience.

Fresh , vibrant, inventive ,possibly one of the best meals that I have ever eaten. From the amuse bouches to the cardamom chocolate with the coffee everything was a taste explosion. Asparagus and crab was so light and fresh. Lamb with samphire was just the best. Hazelnut soufflé was heaven. I particularly like the sauces in little jugs so you can add more !! Wine delicious! Service so friendly and quietly efficient. Thanks for my birthday card and chocolates!! Perfick!

We had the three course dinner menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lamb was succulent and the hazelnut souffle excellent.

A trip to The Cross is always a culinary experience; if you follow MasterChef on BBC this is one really good restaurant to try. The service was excellent with great attention to detail from arrival to departure. This is our ‘Go to’ place for special times; we had a special time today. Thank you.

Excellent food and wine! The sommelier was excellent and very helpful. Our only comment would be that from a service point of view we'd have liked consistency as we had different staff throughout the evening. Would still highly recommend though and we'll be back again soon!
