There's plenty on offer throughout the week at The Cricketers Mill Green near Ingatestone in Essex.

Set within a beautiful rural environment but easily accessible.

Now serving lunch & dinner 5 days per week including an extended Sunday Lunch service.
Please Note While Booking With Us, Dogs are allowed in the bar area however that are not allowed in the restaurant.

Food is served in our restaurant with our new A La Carte menu which is served Wednesday to Saturday 12-3pm then 6-9pm or our new Bar menu Which is served all day Wednesday to Saturday 12-9pm excluding sandwiches in the evening.

We also have daily 'specials' so there is always something different.

We use locally sourced ingredients and all of our dishes are freshly prepared in our kitchen.

Big sunday roast, forget your starters don't need it even though they are good.

Nice meal in a nice pub. I think they were a bit rushed the day we were there as they had another private function in half of the pub so felt a little like we were a bit of a distraction but we did get all we had ordered without any hiccups. Nice inside plus plenty of outside space in the front and back garden.

Excellent food. Best fish and chips my wife had ever tasted. Really lovely experience sitting outside watching the world mostly cycle by, whilst eating great food.

We went to the paella evening. The food was outstanding! And so much of it! The service was excellent. I do hope they do some other themed evenings. Or at least another paella night.

I am sorry to say that on the day we visited the service was extremely slow. Our first course took nearly an hour to arrive, though it came quite quickly after we had queried it with the waiting staff. A similar story with the dessert, which took a very long time and came soon after we had mentioned this. None of the meals were complicated: three were salads, desserts likewise. I appreciate that they were probably short-staffed but they need to train the waiting staff to apologise and warn customers about the expected long waits. The food was also very mediocre when it came. Rather disappointing all round.

There was a good atmosphere as most tables were booked being Father's Day. The staff were run off their feet but the service was still very good. The roast beef was the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant! Well done!

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience on my most recent visit. I had booked a table a week before, and upon arriving we were told they were too busy to take our order and unable to say when we could order. We then went to the pizza 'hut' at the back to order from there instead and were told the wait was 1 hours too. Disgruntled, we ordered anyway and waited 1hr 05 for our food. We were then completely forgotten about, no one came to clear our plates, ask us if we wanted another drink (we only had one from when we initially sat down) and nor did they give us the dessert menu. I went up to the bar to pay myself and leave. A very, very disappointing experience and no apology from the staff or manager. This was a booking, not a walk in, and you should have had adequate kitchen staff. I have worked in restaurants since I was 16, and I'd have had the common sense to apologise to a customer and perhaps offer them a drink or tea on the house to try to make up for the poor service. Small gestures go a long way to make customers happy and there's much to be learnt here. A very poor experience.
