The Cricketers Inn is everything you would expect from a traditional country pub: cosy interiors, open fire, well-kept ales, local gins, a good selection of wine and a warm welcome from the team. You can choose to dine in the restaurant, the dog-friendly bar area, or outside in our large beer garden.

We are all about creating food that is full of flavour without the fuss. Hearty pub classics and daily specials that can be enjoyed in a relaxed environment with the whole family. We champion local producers and are

    Disappointed with our experience. Our expectations from previous visits were sadly not fulfilled. Whilst expecting it to be busy on a Sunday lunchtime, we didn’t expect the huge numbers of people. The noise levels were intolerable at times with it becoming impossible to have a conversation. Service was slow . I chose trout …. It was burnt black…. I didn’t return it to the kitchen , because as hostess to the party I didn’t want my guests to have to wait . This was a celebration of my 80th … I had chosen to take friends out to lunch instead of a party . Having been to The Cricketers on many occasions and had delicious food and excellent service I chose to return. Not again .

    First time visiting, wasn't good. Went for the roast, for the price, you would expect it to be exemplary Yorkshire pudding - over cooked, tasted burned, no one finished theirs Parsnips - couldn't comment, no one received any Stuffing - maybe show it to an oven, instead of just hot water Veg - wasn't enough veg to go around. 1 small bowl between 3 people, wasn't even 3 pieces of broccoli Cauliflower cheese - grim is the only word that springs to mind Drinks - what you'd expect Service - polite and friendly Lovely setting, greatly let down by the chef on at the time of our visit

    The Sunday dinner and desert was excellent - very nice all around Good local beer to top it off 👍👍 will return for sure

    Just one or two issues. The crispy squid was not crispy though very tasty. The toast with the grilled mackerel was underdone. We were not aware that a service charge was being applied whether satisfied or not.

    Amazing roast pork. Very large portions. Plenty of gravy. Service was excellent. Busy but the staff kept up.

    Fabulous Sunday lunch as usual! Seasonal food at its best. I had the Isle of Wight tomato starter which was delicious followed by roast beef with piping hot vegetables and gravy. So good. For dessert we treated ourselves to the chocolate delice with clotted cream ice cream which was superb. All finished off with a lovely Chilean Chardonnay! Excellent service too.
