                As always a delicious Sunday Roast. Tear and Share Lamb is our absolute favourite. Served with a wide choice of vegetables all hot and cooked to perfection. Staff are all attentive, efficient but still friendly and chatty. We were served by Daisy this visit who was lovely. We want to try other places but why bother when we have found the perfect Sunday lunch there? I don’t think anywhere else would measure up.

                Delicious food in Bistro Pub style, we had three courses, we chose from a varied but select menu. Small quiet area to eat, which we had requested, but there were plenty of tables and areas to choose from. A lovely place to drink, eat and stay and the team were all friendly.

                Great dining experience for Sunday lunch. We were 3 adults and 2 Springer Spaniels. Initial table allocated was not well situated, but we were moved to a much better table. Food was excellent and service first class.

                We found The Cricketers Arms through neighbours of ours who know the chef. We were staying at Stansted before an early flight the next day and were looking for an evening meal. The setting of The Cricketers Arms is idyllic, we arrived one sunny evening as the cricketers themselves were leaving the cricket green in the centre of the village and directly outside the pub. There was outside seating but we sat in the restaurant seating inside. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was great, we had fish & chips, a burger and chicken goujons from the children’s menu. We also enjoyed a delicious strawberry cheesecake with Pimms-soaked strawberries and cookie dough from the children’s menu. Note that of the other 4 parties dining at the same time, 3 of them had (well-behaved) dogs so it is very dog-friendly. All in all, it was the best meal we could have had at an easy distance from our hotel at Stansted and if we stay over again, we’ll be booking in for food!

                Food was lovely, presented well, good portion size. Our drinks order was forgotten on one occasion but they were really busy with the outside tables due to the live music outside. I ordered two soft drinks as pints, received half pints but got charged for pints (didn’t worry to query as it would only have been about 50p per drink). I was aware of the live music when I booked, thought it would be really nice but it wasn’t due to the position of our table. We were inside, music was outside, but the way the music seemed to carry was awful (music was actually really good when we went outside after) and made it really difficult to talk with our friends as we had to shout. Overall a good experience and would recommend but perhaps not a night with live music next time.

                I was charged twice for the bill due to a card payment issue, for which I have waited a week and am still yet to receive a refund. I also queried the overall cost of the bill, as upon reflection it appeared high, although to date have had no response.

                Dear Anonymous, Many thanks for taking the time to make comment on your experience with us when dining on 18th July 2024. Post reviewing reservations for this date and discussing with the team on duty, I beleive you were a party of 5 persons. Twice charged, evidently is not acceptable and for that I apoligise. Post discussion with the duty supervisor that evening we suffered EPOS challenges all night. No excuse and obviously we want to refund asap. Please can you supply via email on info@thecricketersarmspub.co.uk proof of the double charge accompanied with a contact phone number and I'll personally oversee. Regards Andy @ TCA .

                Yet again another delicious Sunday lunch at this gem of a place. Andy and his staff always make you feel so welcome with a cheery smile and friendly atmosphere. The food here is just amazing, all freshly cooked to order, and prob one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever had. Yes maybe slightly on the pricey side, but hey, so worth it in every way. Thank you guys again for a fabulous time with you, hope to see you again soon. 👍🤗
