The Crathorne Arms is a great pub in a wonderful community spirited village, lovely people, Lord Crathorne himself couldn’t be more supportive, how lucky we are.

Our life has come a full circle from a town pub in Middlesbrough (well Eugene has) to the tontine (McCoys Hotel, Restaurant and Bistro) to a village pub in Crathorne, Ten Minutes from Middlesbrough.

We live above the pub, our furniture and furnishings live downstairs as they can’t and won’t fit up the stairs! So the canoe has the condiments, the bookcases our books, the huge sofa with big squashy cushions to sink into, tin lanterns reflecting patterns on the ceiling, this all makes for a homely feel and that’s what we would like to create along with good wholesome food and drink.

Of Course the staff, front of house and kitchen are all great, hardworking, smiley, enthusiastic young people and a joy to work with.

Have been going to The Crathorne Arms regularly and have never been disappointed. The staff are brilliant and the food, especially the legendary seafood pancake, never disappoints.

From the welcome at the bar to the service at the table ,The service is great and the food is exceptional, I have been coming here now regularly for the past 6 yrs (lockdown the only times we were missing) and I have never had a bad experience . I highly recommend The Crathorne arms. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic Sunday lunch in a beautiful setting. The Crathorne Arms is a lovely old style pub with a delightful ambiance. Our roast beef was delicious, perfectly cooked and served with fresh vegetables and a huge Yorkshire pudding! We had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream to follow which was also delicious! Highly recommended!

I had a fantastic meal . So delicious very summery. The French doors open looking onto the lovely courtyard. As always the dining room tinkled with atmosphere. Grilled half lobster lots of sauce to dip my bread . Followed by Dover sole new potatoes and samphire . Very memorable .

As always - attentive staff, menu has good variety, food quality excellent and a great ambience - making for an enjoyable evening again.

We were celebrating 3 birthdays a 75 an 80 and 85. The food was excellent. Really nice night as always.

Having dined here many times before including Sunday Lunch on this occasion it simply wasn't as good. The Prawn Cocktail was tasteless & watery & the Roast Beef Sunday Lunch was 2 small extremely rare slices of meat with a lot of fat. The Roast Chicken & the Plaice fillets however were excellent. As always the staff were pleasant and friendly. At £28 for 2 courses as one of the more expensive venues for a Sunday Roast on Teeside it needs to be consistently good.

We went on Sunday for a roast dinner and it didn't disappoint. Few restaurants offer Lamb on the menu for roasts and it was just lovely. Young staff who were smiley and friendly, older staff very professional. Already talking about taking friends there.
