The Crab at Bournemouth is one of Dorset's finest, AA rated 2 rosette seafood restaurant.
Situated directly opposite the Bournemouth International Center and just moments from Bournemouth Pier.
Our passionate chefs create an array of delicious dishes sourced from fresh, local produce. Our contemporary surroundings have friendly and personable staff that will make you feel most welcome.
A lovely, relaxing atmosphere with an open balcony when weather permits.

A £5 per person deposit fee is required to make a restaurant booking to confirm and secure the reservation.

Dress Code of Smart Casual (No sportswear, fleeces, sliders, flip flops or beachwear) enforced from 5:30pm. You will be refused entry if not dressed in smart casual attire.

Children aged 8 and under may dine in the restaurant on tables booked with adults between 5:30pm-7:30pm, children's menu is also available. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a booking, there is a possibility your table my no longer be available.

The food was completely outstanding. I loved the live music it fits perfectly with the environment. However, the service didn’t match up I was left waiting at the table for more than 15 minutes just to even ask for the drinks menu, I had to call the waiters more than 3 times in order to be served.

From start to finish the whole evening was great . The staff were attentive and the food was vv good all melt in the mouth . Would definitely recommend this place .

Best restaurant in Bournemouth, the food was absolutely Devine and for a really reasonable price. Honestly really worth it and will definitely go again!

This is a classy restaurant with excellent quality fish served beautifully. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The hake was delicious as was the calamari. Will revisit next time we are in Bournemouth .

The meal felt rushed. Ordered cocktails to enjoy pre meal however the starter came halfway through and it wasn’t a great sharing board at all. It was very shabby and tasteless. My main course was hake which was about 3 in.² sat on on a large amount of very salty risotto most of which was uneaten. The bill arrived without asking so whole experience for me was poor. Having last visited about four years ago -we probably won’t be visiting again in a hurry.

Hoped for fresh seafood, everything was mushy, tasted frozen. Expensive.

Our experience at the Crab was very good overall, the service was excellent as was the ambiance, with a live skill full gentle pianist playing in the background. My wife had the Moules Marinières frites which was very well prepared and very generous, I had the Halibut which was well cooked but the sauce in my opinion was a little bit too peppery for such a delicate fish. My desert was the creme brûlée which was very well done, my wife had Affogato the ice cream was a good quality but the espresso wasn’t hot or strong enough….. All in all we had a very enjoyable time, in a stylish restaurant with excellent service and good food.
