The Crab at Bournemouth is one of Dorset's finest, AA rated 2 rosette seafood restaurant.
Situated directly opposite the Bournemouth International Center and just moments from Bournemouth Pier.
Our passionate chefs create an array of delicious dishes sourced from fresh, local produce. Our contemporary surroundings have friendly and personable staff that will make you feel most welcome.
A lovely, relaxing atmosphere with an open balcony when weather permits.

A £5 per person deposit fee is required to make a restaurant booking to confirm and secure the reservation.

Dress Code of Smart Casual (No sportswear, fleeces, sliders, flip flops or beachwear) enforced from 5:30pm. You will be refused entry if not dressed in smart casual attire.

Children aged 8 and under may dine in the restaurant on tables booked with adults between 5:30pm-7:30pm, children's menu is also available. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a booking, there is a possibility your table my no longer be available.

Food was excellent my Husband had the Halibut & it was fantastic. Couldn’t fault the food although a little on the expensive side. They brought out a plate with Happy Birthday on with some cake and strawberries which was a nice touch to end the evening. Would definately return.

We ordered half a lobster and seafood linguine. My husband asked for no mussels and was advised that small prawns could be added instead. The waitress noted this but it was not adhered to by the chef. They took the linguine cost off the bill, but that didn’t improve our experience. We said we wanted quick service as we were going to a show at the BIC. We waited for half an hour and had to ask twice, when our order would arrive. We had 20 minutes to gulp down our food. The crab was £43 and was literally two mouthfuls the size of a king prawn and tasteless! We were so disappointed and I was left hungry all evening.

Service was appalling, wait staff didn't come to table. Long time to have orders taken. When pressed on this, excuse given that 'something occurred in the kitchen', however, table was facing bar area where wait staff were regularly spending time chatting and not doing rounds. Think the lying to customers face was worse than waiting times.

Thank you for a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were happy when they greeted us and all the way through their service. Will definitely be going back and have already recommended to friends

Main courses of sea bass and cod superb. Absolutely delicious. Starters of large prawns and scallops were delicious but slightly overcooked hence the 4 stars. There was a large party of men in so a good atmosphere but a noisy child for a short while. Service was ok and we struggled to understand the waiter at times. Thank you.

Nice place, but the food was really poor. We had 5 different dishes, and none were good, maybe except from the halloumi fries. It was either undercooked or overcooked. Our waiter was nice and friendly, but unfortunately, the experience was overly disappointing.

Service good. Antipasti share starter was poor. Veg consisted of cooked carrots, not value for money. Very meagre. Main fish & chips tasteless, soft batter, same with calamari.

Buzzing atmosphere, however the piano was a bit loud, although we were quite close to it. Food was as always exceptional and the service was good.
