The Crab at Bournemouth is one of Dorset's finest, AA rated 2 rosette seafood restaurant.
Situated directly opposite the Bournemouth International Center and just moments from Bournemouth Pier.
Our passionate chefs create an array of delicious dishes sourced from fresh, local produce. Our contemporary surroundings have friendly and personable staff that will make you feel most welcome.
A lovely, relaxing atmosphere with an open balcony when weather permits.

A £5 per person deposit fee is required to make a restaurant booking to confirm and secure the reservation.

Dress Code of Smart Casual (No sportswear, fleeces, sliders, flip flops or beachwear) enforced from 5:30pm. You will be refused entry if not dressed in smart casual attire.

Children aged 8 and under may dine in the restaurant on tables booked with adults between 5:30pm-7:30pm, children's menu is also available. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a booking, there is a possibility your table my no longer be available.

If you are looking for superlative fish dishes then go to the Crab. My partner had hake myself halibut, both were beautifully presented with white flaking flesh but still with some bite. Wine is reasonably priced and I would recommend a stellenbosch chenin blanc. Staff were prompt and engaging. On the Friday we went the piano player was in residence and although the noise level rises it makes for a great ambience

Really enjoyable meal. Had the hot fruit de mer and it really was delicious. Anti pasta for two was also really good. Service was excellent however the 20% inclusive tip was a bit steep.

Everytime we visit Bournemouth a trip to the Crab is a must. Another fabulous meal, we had oysters which tasted so fresh they must have come out of the sea that day, mussels again so fresh and for mains the most delicious tasting hake. I had mentioned inu booking that it was hubby's birthday and they came out with a birthday plate of brownies and strawberries. All in all another outstanding visit to the Crab

We were visiting Bournemouth for the weekend looking for a place to have a special fish dinner and we chose Crab, what a great find!!!! We sat outside because we had our dog with us, the staff is super lovely and the food is excellent!!! The octopus carpaccio is the best! We were left wanting to order desserts, the kitchen was super busy and the waiting time was very long, however everything was good!!!

Been here several times before and this occasion certainly didn't disappoint. A lovely place with nice surroundings and ambience, complemented by a pianist playing in the background. Varied menu (including daily specials) at reasonable prices with good, attentive service. Wide drinks selection at competitive prices, especially the wine.

Food was average given the high prices. Service wasn’t bad, but there was no alcohol as someone forget to renew the liquor licence. They said they’d phoned to advice me, but I didn’t have a message. Nothing special given the best international competition is countries like Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai, I’d give this 2**
