Celebration for two 50th birthdays. Easy to book. Tara was very helpful on the telephone with our requests. The staff on the day were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Weren't rushed to leave. As six ladies who'd not seen each other for a while, we were able to chat and laugh without feeling we'd outstayed our welcome. Lovely experience 😊

A lovely venue especially in beautiful weather! The majority of the staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was good, felt there could have been more sandwiches and variety. Mini cakes were lovely and the scones huge and very light. It was a very good ‘girlie’ afternoon!

Delicious afternoon tea lovely setting and the sun was shining so we sat outside staff were very attentive and kept offering water and more tea thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to friends.

Lovely afternoon tea and a beautiful atmosphere - one of the best in Hertfordshire. The service could have been better, we waited 20 minutes for one glass of Prosecco to arrive, and although quickly rectified, we were charged for an additional glass of Prosecco on our bill (we think to compensate for the one that didn’t arrive). This was also quickly rectified. For the volume of staff working in the restaurant the drinks / bill service could have been better. All in all though we’d definitely visit again - top quality food and the Cowshed restaurant is beautiful.

We enjoyed our meal and the restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staff. Only thing to pinpoint is that the server didn’t write down our order and ended up adding the wrong sides to the kids dinner.

Lovely food, but maybe needed one more sandwich and cake..catered for nut allergy too. Attentive staff and received a Happy Birthday gingerbreadman with chocolates..😁

Lovely atmosphere and good food. Service excellent. No reflection on this particular afternoon tea but afternoon tea in general - I would personally prefer more savoury items and less sweet. Perhaps a couple of cheese nibbles at the end to counteract the sweetness. The group of people I was with all had a lovely time.

Very good quality ribeye steak, served with the smallest jacket potato I have ever seen, the size of a golf ball, with a very small hand full of watercress from a bag, not worth £45 a go! Nice venue and good service, had to wait an hour for our food, which was a a bit too long, given we were there at the beginning of service.
