We decided to go to the Courthouse because it's local, and we knew from consulting the menu that we could assemble enough vegan items for a dinner from the sides and entrees. And we did, and the food was really good (if salty, but that's OK). The staff were delightful (attentive, informative) and yes, it has a great ambiance. The proximity to home was also a bonus but I can't imagine that would be too important for most readers here. Anyway, I think given the area and the clientele there would be actually no disadvantage to the Courthouse to put in a greater percentage of actual vegan items - cooking the carrots in beef fat, for instance, seems like a bit of an overreach (to be clear, they are clearly labelled as such on the menu, so we didn't order that). Anyway yes in the final analysis, recommended.

Beautiful food and wine, and super attentive but relaxed service- loved it! Thanks so much for making our family lunch special, especially our waitress who was so sweet with my toddler.

From the minute we walked in til the minute we left, the Courthouse staff were so lovely and to top that off with fine food and wine- what a treat.

The staff are fantastic and the good is delicious. Best place in North Melbourne for a drink or meal. Make sure you try the broccoli, almond and chilli slaw!
