The staff were very friendly and they catered well for gluten free, I just wish the menu was marked with what dishes could be done gluten free instead of being given an allergy separate menu. They were very busy when we visited and had quite a wait with our food but they did take some money off the bill which we appreciated.

Visited here quite a few times for carvery which is outstanding!! Food, service and atmosphere is normally excellent. Monday night, the starter took an hour to come out which was only garlic sour dough. It was quite busy for a Monday night though, probably 3/4 full. Chicken pappardelle pasta was tasty but the chicken was dry like it had been sat for a while. Won’t deter us from coming to this lovely local pub though as usually it is excellent! Would recommend the carvery and warm cookie dough dessert if you can fit it in!

Probably chose wrong day and time for booking as our booking clashed with quiz night and restaurant area became full off dog owners. Should have been warned off this. Food not the best watery defrosted prawns, main courses not presented well and consistent with a long end of day service. I’m sure on another occasion it would be better. Lady serving behind the bar was excellent inspite of being busy

Visited early evening. Warmly welcomed and served at bar. Shown to table and food order taken. Wasn't kept waiting long and food wascl served. I had the steak pie which was one of the best pies I had had in a pub. My partner had chicken snitzel which she said was delicious. The staff were very friendly and chatty. Wish I lived in this area as I would definately be returning.

This is my second time at The Countryman and I took my whole family for Father’s Day. We had a fabulous time, it is a beautiful, spacious pub with beautiful gardens too! The staff were super friendly and attentive! We all had a carvery, we had two vegans who were able to enjoy a vegan carvery too! Honestly we had the best time! Can’t wait to return!

The pub is gorgeous just a shame the food & service lets it down. Food took a long time to come out. Came out separately when we was a group & mains were brought out whilst still eating starters. Also no cutlery had to ask each time.
