Looking for great beef..this is the place. We had the chateaubriand for three. Perfectly cooked and surrounded with just right vegetables. The twice baked potatoe was the best I’ve ever eaten The service was professional and that nice balance between attentive and overbearing…very pleasant The music added to the great ambience of the room All in all a perfect evening of dining

Exceptional experience in all aspects. Eric and his wife provided Outstanding service and were very personable. We had the 7 course Chefs tasting experience. Food, cocktails and ambiance were all fantastic. Can’t wait to go back, it’s a must try for a date night or small group. Highly recommend.

Planning a return visit in the future. The chef cooked our food to perfection and the cherry Jubilee was excellent.

The food was delicious and the service was great. I came with expectations, given the ratings and the high prices, and I found the ambiance to be more like a family ish restaurant. The neon ‘open’ sign with it Open hours was shining at the door which made it feel cafe like.

Midweek and not too crowded. Our first time there and for our anniversary so we ordered a la carte. Service was quite friendly and good and we indicated that we werent in a rush and that can be interpreted different ways so perhaps our fault as later service attention turned to other later diners and we ended up waiting longer than we wanted to get our bill and depart. Really nice recommendation on a wine. Caesar salad was very good. We may have had better in the past but not often and particularly not in Calgary. Quality of the mains varied. I thought the sablefish was great - moist, crispy skin and lovely curry and vegs as a bed. Wife’s duck breast was large portion but seemed overcooked. Given there were only a couple of other tables when we placed our orders that was a surprise but wasn’t noticed at first. We will go again but likely avoid Friday or Saturday when I would expect a larger crowd and more pressure on the chef and front staff. Our meal for two (salad and entree plus two bottles of wine) was just under 3 hours. No dessert or after dinner coffee so probably 20 minutes at the end sitting waiting for front staff so we could ask for the bill. They were putting on quite a show with dessert and after drinks for a couple and that drew everyone’s attention. We should have likely just had a glass of wine each before and with the salad and then a bottle would have been plenty for the main and after. We will likely do a tasting menu with paired wines when next we go for a special meal and then decide on whether it is one of our “go to” Kensington restaurants.

We have been looking for a special place to celebrate special occasions since our favorites did not make it through Covid and we have finally found it in The Continental! We loved the intimacy of the restaurant. Loved the décor., the small table by the fireplace that we'll be booking once its a little cooler out. It was a beautiful night and we had a very cozy table by the open windows. Started with the Foie gras Pate so smooth and delicious served with toast points and a really yummy mixed berry compote. Hubby had the crab and lobster cakes he really enjoyed them. We then had the table side Caesar Salad for 2 loved the dash of tabasco for that extra hint of heat at the end of the palette. I had the rack of lamb, cooked to perfection and the crust had a hint of Dijon and spices.. Delicious!! He had the beef wellington and loved it. all meals came with fresh veggies and potato . Ended our meal with a fun tableside Bananas foster which awesome . Eric our server and one of the owners was so attentive but let us go at our own pace which was such a nice change from the average notice of 2 hour window at other restaurants. Dawn his wife, who is the chef came out to introduce herself was a pleasant surprise. This was such a special evening and we were so glad to try this for the first time but it will not be our last.

Tried something new. Had an awesome experience for our 25th anniversary evening out! Eric’s table side service and Chef Dawn’s creations were impeccable! Plan time to sit back and enjoy what they have brought to Calgary.
