My second time around and they did not disappoint- on my list for every visit to DC- FIVE Stars. The atmosphere was not as vibrant as my last visit, but it was still a great experience.

We read about the continent DC recently and we’re eager to try it. My wife and I enjoy authentic food from central West Africa, and this did not disappoint. The tiger prawns were wonderful – imported from Lagos - and the chicken and beef Soya were excellent as well. Get the Samosas as well. Of course you asked so have to try the Liberian and Nigerian Jollof and decide which the best ! The hosts, managers, and servers were attentive and they are clearly looking to make good impressions. We were there on a Saturday night and it was full when we arrived and packed later on at the tables and at the bar! I was glad to see a second wave as we were wrapping up. It was loud not extreme at all, but like many of the DC restaurants downtown, not a place if you want a very quiet meal. That did not detract, it was absolutely worth it, and we will be back again as there’s much more to try on the menu. I will also be looking out for the jollof wars ( to see, which country has the best), something the chef mentioned when he stopped by the table.

This restaurant is such an amazing experience!!!! We ordered the platter and the chef presents the Tomahawk and carves it tableside. Such a beautiful experience!

Service was amazing. The restaurant was a vibe. The DJ was on point. The price point for the food is where I feel they need work. To charge those types of prices my expectation is a culinary experience. The food was played horribly and the taste was just average. I ordered the Sia by as an appetizer and for my mail had the brave short rib that really wasn’t season well

Lovely experience at The Continent. The restaurant design is very nice and modern. The music was great but not loud to where you can’t hear your dining partners speak. We enjoyed the food very much. The oxtail was falling off the bone and cooked perfectly. The sauce was A-1. The plantain was great. The suya was some of the best we’ve had regionally. Including home cooked variations. You can tell the meat they chose was high quality. Great experience. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for the dope experience and shoutout to Kartier (with a K) for his top tier service.
