After four successful years on the Upper West Side, we are thrilled to be opening our second location, bringing The Consulate’s diverse and global concept to Midtown. We welcome our regulars, new neighbors and friends, to experience the space, which celebrates the French-style bistro of our sister location with a few surprises across the board, ranging from exciting additions to the food & beverage menu to a refreshed design. We look forward to Midtown discovering what The Consulate is all about,” said Restaurateurs Metodija and Kiril Mihajlov.

The Consulate captures the city’s rich diversity and vibrant mix of world influences throughout its concept, food & beverage and design. The idea of The Consulate was born from Metodija’s experience as a foreigner pursuing the American dream in New York City.

We had a lovely brunch. Food was excellent as was the service. The ambience was “old world” and charming. Our waiter Caesar was attentive and helpful.

Impressed from the moment I walked in. I took a client there for a lunch meeting, and it was a big win. The ambiance is elegant but still comfortable enough to chat. The food is unreal, the chef is really a master of his craft! Our server was super attentive and helped us pick an amazing wine. Also, shoutout to the manager Nancy, who stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed! Perfect spot to impress. 👌🏻

Exceptional food, exceptional service! We went for dinner and every course was a delight. Our evening was even more enjoyable thanks to the manager, who took the time to chat with us and made sure everything was to our liking. She truly made us feel like honored guests, which was the cherry on top of an already perfect night.

First time here, and the appetizers are insanely good! Decided to come back during lunchtime and explore this culinary jewel in midtown.

The most unappealing aspect at this place in addition to the mediocre food and high noise level was the extremely poor management. It took 30 mins after being seated to place our orders, and soon after the table next door left as food did not arrive after 45 mins and the party had to catch a show. Our first course arrived 50 mins after seating, and the second course another 45 mins later. Cannot recommend to anyone.

Warm and cozy in an upscale way. The menu is a bit limited but everything the four of us ordered was excellent.

We booked this as a special birthday dinner while staying in New York and had read great reviews. We loved the ambience and the service was good. However, overall my husband and I were disappointed with our main meals. We both enjoyed the French onion soup as starters but when our main meals came they didn’t live up to our expectations for the price. My husband ordered the rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce and a side of Brussels and gratin and although the steak was cooked well the sauce was distinctly lacking in flavour and the Brussels were a bit oily. I ordered the stripe bass with seasonal vegetables which, although I enjoy vegetables with a bit of crunch, they were practically raw and the capsicum sauce was far too sweet. They did give us a complimentary birthday ice cream, however, which was a nice touch. For the price we paid we didn’t feel it was good value for money unfortunately and as our first experience of proper dining in New York we were sadly disappointed.
