After four successful years on the Upper West Side, we are thrilled to be opening our second location, bringing The Consulate’s diverse and global concept to Midtown. We welcome our regulars, new neighbors and friends, to experience the space, which celebrates the French-style bistro of our sister location with a few surprises across the board, ranging from exciting additions to the food & beverage menu to a refreshed design. We look forward to Midtown discovering what The Consulate is all about,” said Restaurateurs Metodija and Kiril Mihajlov.

The Consulate captures the city’s rich diversity and vibrant mix of world influences throughout its concept, food & beverage and design. The idea of The Consulate was born from Metodija’s experience as a foreigner pursuing the American dream in New York City.

I would not come here to celebrate a special occasion as no one seemed to care that it was our anniversary. I made it abundantly clear when I made the reservation and when we arrived that we were celebrating our anniversary. Nothing about this dinner felt special, except the expensive check. The food was okay, but not good enough to make up for poor service, we won’t be returning here again.

Pour des Français c'est un peu cher mais les plats sont exelllents et généreux et surtout le service est agréable et attentionné.

Service was incredibly slow25 minutes to get our drink, another 15 to order and another 30 to get the food

We were the only diners in the restaurant. The restaurant is very nice looking. Our server was more interested in getting us out than making us welcome. My wife and son had the hanger steak, which both enjoyed. My son in law had the lamb, which he also enjoyed. I had mussels, some of which were gritty. I also had the striped bass which was not fresh, nor hot. Very bland. Not a good dining experience, not recommended. For me, first time, last time.

Despite not being crowded the service was spotty at times. I requested my steak well done so it was sliced up without even asking me. The trio of tartare was super small.

our grandson had a broken foot and we were seated upstairs and were told there was no elevator.

Beautiful, comfortable dining room. Absolutely fantastic Croque Monsieur. Brussels sprouts were tasty but a bit undercooked. Would absolutely return.

The food and service were excellent. The food was reasonably priced for fine dining. Can't wait to go back.
