The food is amazing I've eaten at The Consulate at least six times and I've not been disappointed with the food or service.

Our waitress was great, the service in general very friendly and knowledgeable. I was on a date night with my partner so they gave us a special table. The food was outstanding and very creative and the ambiance was very cool and cozy at the same time. We will definitely come back and keep trying the different menus.

Consulate continues to be one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Atlanta (for 5 years now). The restaurant is beautiful and the service is top notch. Their international menu with a rotating highlighted country is so fun. We’ve probably been for 10 countries now and every single one has had amazing dish selections. The food is always delicious and something I’ve never tried before. There are a lot of tapas / shareable style restaurants in Atlanta that are overpriced and just alright. But The Consulate consistently impresses me. Their cocktails are also phenomenal.

Anniversary dinner. Waitress was incredible. Lucky to have had her. So loving and bubbly. I do like when restaurants do something a little special - maybe a free dessert/glass of champagne. Or even just writing on the dessert plate, even if the dessert is not free. Totally understand why nothing was gifted. I am not an adventurous eater so my opinion on my beef bulgogi doesn't matter. (It wasn't adventurous at all. Was totally fine and a safer option for a picky eater. Just wasn't my preference of flavor profile) My boyfriend thought it was good - so lean into his opinion more. Wants to order it next time lol he was in heaven with his food. The one with the lobster and caviar. Cleaned his plate. Minster mini's as an app was fine. Tap water was 100% fine - I had some lemons with it and they brought us a large container of it, kept coming by to refill our cups for us. Very fancy. Guava flan was so incredible that we got another one after sharing the first one. Also take this with a grain of salt - if you're not someone who doesn't love trying new twists on foods, is pretty picky, it may not be worth it for you. My boyfriend is a huge 007 fan and loves all foods and obsessed with caviar/lobster so I chose the restaurant for him. I would 100% come back for a normal date night - special occasion, maybe not? (but I like to feel extra special because i'm a 10000% just like that lol host did say happy anniversary which was sweet) PS. excited for Hawaii in sept!!!

We were here for Hungarian food and it was excellent. Our server was also friendly and attentive. We’d definitely return!

Went for the Hungarian "inspired" menu which will continue through August 2024. It was very good. These are not your grandmother's recipes, so don't come expecting that. The two things that we got were the cabbage rolls and chicken paprikash. Both were very good with several interesting new flavors. For instance, the addition of cumin into the cabbage rolls. I hope I get a chance to go back and try the goulash. We were told that the next theme will be Hawaiian.

10 out of 10! My husband and I came for our anniversary dinner and we will definitely be back! The focus was Hungarian cuisine and everything we had was stellar. We also had yummy cocktails, the Turkish coffee cheesecake, and the Cuban eggroll and all were fantastic. The decor is interesting and fun. You really feel like you are having a "night out". I can't recommend this place enough.

Took my wife for an evening out: this is the kind of place she loves (I'd be happy with Steak & Shake). Consulate has a regular menu, plus a rotating menu (every 90 days) featuring dishes from a different country. On the restaurant's website it was listed as Paraguay. By the time we visited it had moved on to Hungary. My wife had the Hungarian Grouper Paprikash. I had KC steak with Hasselback potato. Both were well prepared. My wife enjoyed her meal. The steak was good--would have liked more of the herb butter. The potato would be improved if it had been served with a topping: parsley, butter, cheese--something. It was good, but could have been much more flavorful. Given its eclectic and frequently changing menu mastering so many dishes must be a challenge. I suspect (though only based on one meal so far) that Consulate's chefs tend to be jacks of all trades but masters of none. The Consulate is decorated like Applebees/Chillis, except for hipsters and wealthier folks. I found that amusing. I tend to think there is an inverse relationship between the sophistication of a restaurant's style/decor and the quality of its food (the old Alfredo's on Cheshire Bridge being my favorite example of modesty in the former and excellence in the latter). My favorite feature: validated parking in the deck behind the complex. Particularly in that part of Midtown not having to worry about where you're going to park is nice. The food is pricey, which anyone dining there would probably know ahead of time. There's also an 18% "service fee" that our server explained was instituted during Covid for reasons that are not entirely clear--and apparently never removed. So be prepared for your bill to be about 1/5th more expensive than you were expecting (before the tip). I'm sure my wife will insist on our going back, and I'll do so to make her happy. I'll also probably grab a burger somewhere before hand.

We are glad you enjoyed! Based on our 8 year track record our executive Chef Lin, masters each and every menu. Natives to the featured cuisine is who we listen to, and her record is flawless. Our decor is midcentury peppered with neo classical, and a notable art collection. The decor was intended for art and furniture aficionados to appreciate, the details may not be understood by many. The service fee was put in place because we wanted the staff be relaxed and sure their efforts would translate to a living. The Hasselback has sea salt, cracked pepper and ghee. Chef wanted the Potato to taste like a potato and not get drowned out. But you can request a sauce if you desire. We are here for the adventerous, and look forward to your return!
