Originally known as the Johnson-Wolfe Farm, the Comus Inn today is a historic 1860s farmhouse situated on just over five acres of the Maryland Agricultural Reserve, three miles and a world away from the bustling I-270 travel corridor. Rather surprised to find that several appetizers and entrees weren't available. More surprised to find that they didn't have decaf coffee!

The outside is the way I remember it but the inside is all modern. No need to dress up anymore. It’s very very casual. Love the outside area. Lots of families and people watching the sunset and enjoying the music and the out of doors. Nice relaxing place. A bit noisy in the dining room area. Food was good and service was excellent. I would certainly go back again.

This was my first time dining at Comus Inn. We had reservations for 2 and were seated right away. We each ordered a starter, a main dish, and a dessert and coffee. The food was artfully arranged and delicious. The view of the garden and the mountains in the back added to the evening. The waitress was responsive and professional. We loved it and plan to visit again. I have a small e-newsletter that I sent out about once per month and I plan to do a small article about Comus Inn.

The food was tasty, good temperature and well cooked. The server seemed new but attentive. The window table was excellent!

Comus was a mixed bag. The table was old, needed to be sanded or covered with a table cloth or at least a paper cloth. The champagne was served in wine glasses and the Brut's flavor was good but it was flat. We both felt the menu was bit limited. The actual food preparation was excellent and the portion size wonderful (rillete, scotch egg, quail, trout, creme brulee). Comus was good value but the experience was marred by these mishaps.

I would go back in a heartbeat. We went to the dining room inside and everything was absolutely delicious. I had the Bavarian pretzel stuffed with crab meat and cheese, which was so unique and very yummy. I also had the shrimp pesto and we shared the dark chocolate cake. Outside had a really nice vibe. There was live music and seats with the view of the mountains and a beautiful sunset. The menu is a taco bar. The ambience inside isn’t much to speak of, but you also get of view of the mountain, but not as good as you as outside.

The food was great for the price point! We had a great waitress which made the experience that much better. Overall I’ll definitely be going back.

Did NOT handle food allergy requests of both the people at the table. We left to go to safe allergy responsible restaurant.

The food was delicious. The fact that the two of us at our table had to shout to each other to be heard was terrible. Because of the noise, it was NOT a fine dining experience. We won't return unless the noise level goes down.
